Entrepreneurs to Play a Key Role in Building a Developed Chhattisgarh: Chief Minister Sai

Raipur, January 2026 : Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai attended the inaugural programme of the Cosmo Trade and Build Fair Expo 2026, organised by the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Raipur in the state capital on Friday. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that entrepreneurs will play a crucial role in the creation of a developed Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Sai stated that the Chhattisgarh government is working for the upliftment of every section of society. With the objective of strengthening the business community and providing relief to consumers, GST rates have been reduced, the direct benefit of which is reaching the general public. He noted that GST reforms have led to a reduction in the prices of several commodities and that the GST process has been made significantly simpler and more user-friendly.

Highlighting the state’s industrial growth, the Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh’s new industrial policy is being widely appreciated across the country and abroad. He informed that investment proposals worth more than ₹8 lakh crore have already been received. These proposals span across various sectors, and work on many of them has already begun at the ground level. He added that the government is placing special emphasis on employment generation. Under the new industrial policy, special incentives have been provisioned for entrepreneurs who generate employment for more than 1,000 people.

Chief Minister Sai further said that Rotary Clubs and entrepreneurs will together play an important role in building a developed Chhattisgarh. He praised the Rotary Club for its contribution not only to entrepreneurship but also to philanthropic activities. The social work carried out by the Rotary Club, he said, is highly commendable. Expressing happiness over the scale of the event, he remarked that it is the largest expo in Central India, featuring more than 300 stalls. He added that such a large-scale event would certainly benefit Chhattisgarh.

Raipur Member of Parliament Shri Brijmohan Agrawal said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Chhattisgarh is moving rapidly on the path of development. He reiterated that the state has received investment proposals worth nearly ₹8 lakh crore. Calling it a matter of pride, he said that this year marks the 16th edition of the expo organised by the Rotary Club. He described the Rotary Club as a service-oriented organisation and highlighted its significant contribution to polio eradication efforts.

During the programme, Chief Minister Sai also inaugurated a mobile eye clinic ambulance. He honoured 25 women entrepreneurs for their outstanding contributions across various sectors and released a book focused on these women entrepreneurs. On the occasion, former Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Shri Rakesh Chaturvedi, Shri Ram Garg, members of the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Raipur, and a large number of citizens were present.
