Minister of State Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar Presides Over Independence Day Football Tournament in Khawzawl

Khawzawl : Today at 1:00 pm, the Minister of State for Sports & Youth Services, LESDE, etc., Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar, who also served as the guest of honor for the Independence Day celebrations, presided over the ongoing Independence Day 2024 Football Tournament.

During the event, Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar expressed his delight at the enthusiastic participation of young players in the tournament. He emphasized the government’s commitment to furthering the development of Mizo sports talent through enhanced coaching and improved sports infrastructure. The Minister also highlighted the importance of health and wellness for young athletes, urging them to stay disciplined and avoid harmful habits.

Following his speech, Minister Pu Lalnghinglova Hmar presented volleyball equipment to Khawzawl Deputy Commissioner and District Sports Committee Chairman, Pu K. Vanlalthiana. He also awarded prizes to the winners of the Independence Day 2024 Football Tournament in the Under 12 and Under 14 categories. The prize recipients were as follows:

Under 12 Category:

• Best Player: Zomuanpuia (Neihdawn)
• Runners-up: Electric U-12 Team
• Champion: Neihdawn U-12 Team

Under 14 Category:

• Best Player: Lallawmpuia (Zuchhip)
• Runners-up: Ngaizawl U-14 Team
• Champion: Zuchhip U-14 Team
