Indian Leaders Begins Arriving At Davos For The World Economic Forum Meet 2026.
Davos, Switzerland; January 2026: As the 56th International Meet “A Spirit of Dialogue” under the aegis of World Economic Forum poised to commence from today, 19th January 2026, at Davos Switzerland, Indian leaders have already started arriving at Davos to represent & promote their respective agendas.

Beginning today, Madhya Pradesh will present its compelling growth story, progressive policy framework, and robust investment ecosystem on this global platform, positioning itself as a strategic investment hub.
Senior state officials have arrived yesterday to spearhead discussions and pitch opportunities across various sectors, with Several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) expected to be exchanged during the visit. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is expected to arrive on Wednesday for engagements at the WEF, with the objective of positioning the state as a preferred global investment destination, strengthening direct engagement with multinational corporations, and advancing new investment proposals in priority sectors. From Automotive and new mobility to renewable energy, food processing, tourism, culture, and many others, Madhya Pradesh will showcase its strengths across multiple high-growth sectors.

“The high-level delegation, led by Hon’ble Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Shri Suresh Kumar Khanna and coordinated by Invest UP, showcases Uttar Pradesh’s strong commitment to global partnerships and long-term economic growth”, the post read. The visit aims to position the state as a global investment destination as it pursues a USD 1 trillion economy target through infrastructure and technology-led growth.
Gujarat is represented by the Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, who was addressing the media houses reiterated that the state will undertake an intensive programme of over 58 high-level meetings with global leaders and investors across key sectors, including Advanced Manufacturing, Textiles, Semiconductors, Emerging Technologies, Pharmaceuticals, Renewable Energy, Food Processing, Chemicals, Shipping and Logistics, Electronics, and Aerospace. Proposed interactions include leading global companies such as AP Moller Maersk, Engie, EDF, Johnson Controls, Sumitomo Group, Linde, SEALSQ, Tillman Global, and others.
According to the Deputy CM, these engagements aim to strengthen Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem enable technology and industrial ecosystem, enable technology and innovation partnerships, attract global investments, generate large-scale employment opportunities for youth, and build long-term international institutional linkages.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi will also speak at prominent global sessions, including India in the New Geo-Economic Order, The Power of Sports: Turning Spectacle to Legacy, Coal to Clean Initiative: Technological Innovations to Drive the Transition, Mission Water: A Water-Secure Future for One Billion People, and Delivering Sustainability at Scale: Pathways for Global Transformation. Through these platforms, Gujarat will showcase its development blueprint aligned with the vision of Viksit Gujarat @2047.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis arrived in Switzerland today early morning beginning his 05 days visit with his arrival in Zurich and was later received in Davos by members of the Marathi-speaking community and India’s Ambassador to Switzerland, Mridul Kumar. Union Ministers Prahlad Joshi and Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu also met with CM Fadnavis upon his arrival. The ministers extended their congratulations to Fadnavis for the recent victory in the Maharashtra municipal election. This electoral performance remained a central theme during the Chief Minister’s interactions with well-wishers and community members throughout the day.
During a welcome program organised by the Bruhan Maharashtra Mandal, Fadnavis detailed the state government’s initiative to establish the Maha-NRI Forum. He explained that the platform aims to strengthen connections with the global Marathi diaspora.
“The foundation of any true progress lies in preserving our cultural heritage”, the Chief Minister said. “Material advancement flows naturally from this cultural strength. We are now embarking on ambitious and concrete plans for Mumbai’s development. In the next five years, our Mumbai will stand among the most advanced urban centres globally, surpassing even the capitals of developed nations”.
Reflecting on the Marathi presence worldwide, CM Fadnavis observed that Maharashtrians have made their mark across the globe. “Wherever you go, you find the Marathi community progressing with distinction. Their identity is built on hard work and trustworthiness qualities that inspire pride in all of us”, he added. The event also highlighted educational initiatives undertaken by the community. Amol Savarkar, Coordinator of the International Marathi Forum, said that the organisation has started Marathi language classes in several schools across Switzerland.
Commending the initiative, Fadnavis emphasised the importance of preserving the Marathi language and culture for future generations. The reception concluded with traditional rituals, including the Ovalan ceremony and the rendition of the Maharashtra State Song.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma participation is expected to open new avenues for investment, launch new projects, such as semiconductor initiatives, and create employment opportunities for the younger generation, thereby benefiting the state across multiple fronts. CM Sarma will take part in more than 17 meetings at the WEF and sign several memorandum of understanding. He will engage in several forward-looking discussions on themes like securing a future-ready workforce for the next industrial era, travel and tourism, a potential 10 trillion dollar destination, health and healthcare, etc.
Following the successful conclusion of Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit, expectations run high that the Chief Minister’s participation in the WEF will significantly influence investment and economic prospects in Assam. During the conference, CM Sarma will present various development initiatives focused on inclusive growth and the digital revolution. India’s rapid economic growth has drawn global attention, and Assam, being one of the fast-paced and promising states, has earned national and international attention.
