Rajasthan Reviews Loan Promotion and Financial Inclusion in Pre-Budget Meeting

Jaipur, Jan 2026: Chief Secretary V. Srinivas chaired a pre-budget meeting with the State Level Bankers’ Committee, emphasizing that the banking sector forms the backbone of Rajasthan’s industrial and economic growth through loan promotion and financial inclusion. He instructed banks to minimize gaps between sanctioned and disbursed loans under MSME, women entrepreneurship, Rajivika, and other central and state government schemes, enabling progress toward Developed India@2047 and Developed Rajasthan@2047 goals.

The meeting reviewed loan distribution and banking service expansion across the state. Chief Secretary Srinivas highlighted opportunities for banks to extend credit in sectors identified under the Rising Rajasthan Summit, which has already witnessed groundbreaking investments worth ₹8 lakh crore.

Additional Chief Secretary, MSME, Shikhar Agrawal, noted that the Panch Gaurav Scheme promotes 41 products across 41 districts, presenting banks with huge potential for credit support in manufacturing, processing, and marketing. Finance Secretary Rajan Vishal and Mission Director Neha Giri emphasized expanding financial services in rural areas, aligning loan sizes with RBI guidelines, and reducing loan application backlogs for self-help groups.

The Bank of Baroda presented on loan distribution frameworks and expansion strategies in Rajasthan. Representatives from RBI, NABARD, SBI, PNB, HDFC, ICICI, IDBI, Bank of India, Indian Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, and other major banks participated in the discussion.

The Chief Secretary urged banks to fast-track smaller loans and actively support youth and small entrepreneurs, ensuring banking contributes directly to employment and self-reliance.
