Ujjain has emerged as Cultural Capital of Enthusiasm, Energy and Joy: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that Ujjain has become a city of enthusiasm, energy, zeal and joy. Festivals, celebrations and cultural events are observed here at every moment, making Ujjain the capital of festivities. The Chief Minister made these remarks while inaugurating the ‘Raahgiri Anand Utsav’ on Sunday morning at Kothi Road in Ujjain. He performed shankhnaad, following the Sanatan tradition of invoking the divine.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participated in the ‘Raahgiri Anand Utsav’ on Sunday in Ujjain. Thousands of citizens also gathered to enjoy morning walks along with activities such as joy and recreation, yoga, traditional sports and cultural events. During the event, more than 70 organisations welcomed and felicitated the Chief Minister from various stages.

Farmers Honoured

At the conclusion of the ‘Raahgiri’, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honoured farmers by presenting them with shawls and shriphal. He said that the Simhastha will be organised in Ujjain in 2028, providing a significant opportunity to showcase India’s cultural heritage, enthusiasm and traditions on the global stage. Efforts will be made to give India’s Sanatan traditions a renewed global identity.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that Raahgiri–2026 has been dedicated to farmers. He said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi stands like a rock at the international level to protect farmers’ interests, and the state government is continuously working alongside farmers to contribute to this cause. He stated that honouring farmers brought immense joy, as they are the true sons of the motherland and play a vital role in the nation’s progress.

District In-charge Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal, MLAs Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda and Shri Satish Malviya, Municipal Corporation Chairperson Smt. Kalavati Yadav, Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal, Shri Sanjay Agrawal, and administrative officials were present at the event.

The presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav at the Raahgiri Anand Utsav generated great enthusiasm among the public. Children, youth, elders, and women who had come for their morning walk were eager to click photographs with him. Citizens welcomed the Chief Minister warmly, and he, in turn, encouraged and motivated everyone, adding to the festive spirit.

At the beginning of the event, armed personnel from the BSF, CRPF, and Madhya Pradesh Police jointly rendered a salute to the Chief Minister, accompanied by a band performance. During the event, at the Traffic Police stage, the Chief Minister conveyed a message of road safety by placing helmets on citizens and also distributed gifts to young children.

Bullock Cart Ride and Cultural Participation

During the event, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav rode a bullock cart as a mark of respect to farmers and greeted the public. Various organisations welcomed him with turbans and garlands. On the cultural stage, the Chief Minister also rendered the bhajan “Govind Bolo, Hari Gopal Bolo.”

Saffron Flag Hoisted

At the stage set up by Samrat Vikramaditya Vishwavidyalaya on Kothi Road, the Chief Minister appreciated a presentation of Bharat Mata Aarti performed by young girls and waved the saffron flag among them. He also played the drums on the stage to boost public enthusiasm. Visiting the Wrestling Federation stage, the Chief Minister waved the gada (mace) and encouraged young wrestlers.

Grand Welcome by Press Club

At the Society for Press Club stage on Kothi Road, the Chief Minister was welcomed by Press Club President Shri Nandlal Yadav with a garland made of 101 kg of flowers. Journalists from print and electronic media and Press Club office-bearers were present. On this occasion, the Press Club distributed saffron-flavoured milk and jalebis free of cost.

Visit to Agricultural Exhibition

During the Raahgiri Anand Utsav, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav visited the exhibition organised by the Agriculture Department at Kothi Road, showcasing tools and equipment used in agricultural operations. He obtained detailed information about modern agricultural implements. On this occasion, the department also distributed Shri Anna (millets)–based laddus of five varieties and khichdi free of cost.
