Andhra Pradesh Attracts Rs 22 Lakh Crore Investments in 28 Months: Chandrababu Naidu

New Delhi/Amaravati, Oct 2026 : Andhra Pradesh has attracted investments worth around Rs 22 lakh crore over the past 28 months, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said on Thursday, asserting that his government is working to make the state one of India's most preferred destinations for investments, industries and employment.

Addressing the curtain-raiser event for the CII Partnership Summit 2026 in New Delhi in the presence of Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, Naidu said the state was moving ahead with its "Build AP" vision and was committed to creating an investor-friendly ecosystem.

According to an official release, the Chief Minister briefed industrialists about investment opportunities in Andhra Pradesh, support extended by the Centre, major projects underway across sectors and the state's future development roadmap.

Naidu recalled that investment agreements worth Rs 13.50 lakh crore were signed during last year's Partnership Summit. However, he stressed that the government's objective was not merely to sign memoranda of understanding but to ensure that the proposed investments were converted into actual projects and employment opportunities.

He said several major companies, including ArcelorMittal and Google, were establishing operations in Andhra Pradesh, reflecting growing investor confidence in the state.

The Chief Minister said the industrial incentives escrow account, announced earlier by the government, would be launched on November 12-13. He also said the NALA Act, which had emerged as an impediment to investments, had been repealed.

Naidu assured investors that Andhra Pradesh was prepared to immediately implement policies that would contribute to the state's economic growth. He said the government was adopting the concept of "Speed of Doing Business" to make the most of opportunities in the agriculture, industrial and services sectors.

Highlighting the state's infrastructure and water resources potential, Naidu said interlinking the Godavari, Krishna, Penna, Tungabhadra and Cauvery rivers could help eliminate water scarcity not only in Andhra Pradesh but also in neighbouring Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

He said the government was also working to transform the Rayalaseema region into a global horticulture hub and position Andhra Pradesh as a gateway to Southeast Asia by leveraging its geographical location, ports and connectivity.

On the energy sector, Naidu said agreements had already been signed for generating 110 GW of power as part of the state's larger target of developing 500 GW of green energy. He added that plans were underway to establish a dedicated green energy transmission corridor to support the expansion of renewable power infrastructure.

The Chief Minister also announced developments in the shipbuilding sector. Mazagon Dockyard Limited has expressed interest in establishing a shipbuilding centre at Dugarajapatnam, while Goa Shipyard has agreed to set up a shipbuilding facility at Machilipatnam.

Naidu further highlighted the use of artificial intelligence in GST tax collection, saying the technology-driven approach had resulted in a significant increase in the state's revenue.

He also urged the Central government to establish an international-standard convention centre in Andhra Pradesh that could host major events, including future CII Partnership Summits.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Naidu said the Prime Minister was playing a key role in strengthening the country across sectors and congratulated him on completing 25 years of uninterrupted public service.

He credited the Modi government with strengthening India's digital infrastructure and pointed to the country's extensive road and railway networks as examples of rapid infrastructure development. Naidu also thanked the Centre for its support to Andhra Pradesh, particularly for projects such as the Polavaram irrigation project and the development of Amaravati as the state capital.

Speaking at the event, Goyal described Andhra Pradesh as an important pillar of India's development journey and a key destination for entrepreneurs and industrialists. He praised Naidu as a "visionary leader" for embracing technology as early as 1998 and creating an environment conducive to economic growth.

Goyal said Prime Minister Modi and the Central government were extending full support to Andhra Pradesh's development as a "Sunrise State". He highlighted the establishment of a Google data centre in Visakhapatnam and the planned Quantum Computing Valley in Amaravati as major examples of the state's emerging technology ecosystem.

The Union Minister said the Centre and states were working together as "Team India" to accelerate India's development and added that Andhra Pradesh was successfully leveraging opportunities created by Central government initiatives to attract large-scale investments.

Goyal urged industrialists and investors to participate in the upcoming investment summit in Visakhapatnam and explore the wide range of opportunities available across Andhra Pradesh.

CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee and CII President R. Mukundan also participated in the meeting.
