Jaipur, October 2026 : Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Thursday chaired a review meeting at the Collectorate auditorium in Tonk during his visit to the district headquarters to assess the progress of the Jal Sanchay-Jan Bhagidari campaign, Isarda Dam and projects being implemented by the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED).
During the meeting, Srinivas reviewed public participation in the Jal Sanchay campaign, the construction progress of Isarda Dam, drinking water distribution and various PHED projects. He directed officials to accelerate ongoing works and ensure effective implementation of the initiatives.
The Chief Secretary stressed the need to ensure active participation of the general public, Bhamashahs and water-user organisations in works being undertaken under the Jal Sanchay-Jan Bhagidari campaign. He also called for organising programmes such as Jal Chaupal in rural and urban areas, with priority given to the creation and strengthening of water conservation structures.
Srinivas directed the District Collector to regularly review the campaign in coordination with concerned departments and inspect the works undertaken for water conservation.
He also reviewed water conservation works being carried out in Tonk district by the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Local Self Government, Watershed, Groundwater and Forest departments. He said that in rural areas where works under the Jal Jeevan Mission have been completed, Jal Arpan programmes should be organised to formally hand over drinking water projects.
Reviewing the progress of the state’s ambitious Isarda Dam project, drinking water distribution and the completion of PHED projects, Srinivas directed officials to expedite the works. He also held a detailed discussion on the status of land acquisition for the dam project.
Divisional Commissioner Shakti Singh Rathore, District Collector Tina Dabi, Superintendent of Police Roshan Meena, ADM Vinod Kumar Meena, CEO Rakesh Kumar Meena, PHED Chief Engineer Raj Singh, Isarda Dam Superintending Engineer Jitendra Luhadiya and officials from the Water Resources, PHED, Local Self Government, Watershed, Agriculture and Forest departments were present at the meeting.
Chief Secretary Inspects Cyber Police Station
Chief Secretary V. Srinivas also inspected the Cyber Police Station in Tonk and reviewed the action taken so far to effectively control cybercrime and provide prompt relief to victims.
He said that immediately after receiving a complaint from a victim, police should establish prompt coordination with banking institutions and other concerned agencies and initiate steps to secure the defrauded money.
Srinivas sought detailed information on the process followed at the cybercrime police station, from receipt and registration of complaints to filing of FIRs, collection of evidence, investigation and monitoring of case progress.
He emphasised the need to provide personnel with adequate resources and better training for effective disposal of cybercrime cases. He directed officials to identify mule accounts and immediately freeze or seize suspicious accounts. He also instructed them to ensure that charge sheets in cyber fraud cases are filed within the stipulated timeframe.
The Chief Secretary further stressed the need for large-scale public awareness campaigns to educate people about cyber fraud and ways to protect themselves from falling victim to online scams.
