Mumbai, September 2026 : Striking a balance between preserving traditions and protecting the environment is a collective responsibility. While enjoying the festivities of Ganeshotsav, it is essential to ensure that the environment is not harmed. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis appealed to citizens to respect traditional practices while celebrating the festival in an eco-friendly manner.
On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha was ceremonially installed at ‘Varsha’, the official residence of the Chief Minister in Mumbai. Chief Minister Fadnavis and his wife, Amruta Fadnavis, performed the traditional puja and aarti of Lord Ganesha along with their family.
After offering prayers to Lord Ganesha, Chief Minister Fadnavis extended his heartfelt greetings to devotees across Maharashtra and the country on the occasion of Ganeshotsav. He prayed that Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, bring happiness into everyone's lives and eliminate all difficulties faced by the nation, the state, its citizens and farmers, while blessing everyone with renewed energy, strength and prosperity.
The Chief Minister said that enthusiasm for Ganeshotsav is running high across Mumbai and Maharashtra. Ganeshotsav is a festival of faith, joy and tradition, and he urged all devotees to celebrate it with happiness and devotion.
At the same time, he appealed to citizens to remain conscious of environmental protection while celebrating the festival.
Fadnavis emphasised that Ganeshotsav is not merely a religious ceremony but also a festival that brings society together and strengthens the spirit of devotion and social commitment.
He called upon citizens to celebrate Ganeshotsav in a traditional manner while maintaining a harmonious balance between preserving traditions, protecting the environment and fulfilling social responsibility.
