CM Dr. Mohan Yadav Performs Bhoomi Poojan for 25-Ft Statue of Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed the Bhoomi Poojan with due rituals on Sunday for the installation of a statue of  former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna, late Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji at the garden located in Dussehra Maidan, Indore. The Indore Municipal Corporation is constructing a 25-foot-tall statue of late Atal Ji along with its pedestal at the garden located at Dussehra Maidan on Annapurna Road. Built at an estimated cost of ₹197.13 lakh, the statue will serve as a lasting tribute to Atal Ji’s memory, personality and ideals of national service.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that installing late Atal Ji’s statue at a prominent public place such as Dussehra Maidan is not merely the creation of a memorial but an important means of carrying his thoughts and ideals forward to future generations. The statue will familiarise citizens, particularly the youth, with late Atal Ji’s life, patriotism, good governance, democratic values and dedication to nation-building.

Statue and Pedestal Construction to Be Completed in Four Months

The Indore Municipal Corporation is undertaking the installation of the statue and construction of its pedestal at the garden in Dussehra Maidan. The total cost of the project is ₹197.13 lakh. The proposed statue will be 25 feet high and will be made of gunmetal. The statue installation and pedestal construction work is proposed to be completed within approximately four months. The site will serve as a permanent memorial to the ideals of late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee—national service, good governance, democratic values and national unity. Citizens and young people visiting the site will draw inspiration from his life and thoughts.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Shri Pushyamitra Bhargava, former Lok Sabha Speaker Smt. Sumitra Mahajan, MLAs Smt. Malini Gaur, Shri Ramesh Mendola, Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Mahendra Hardia and Shri Golu Shukla, Shri Sumit Mishra, Shri Pratap Karosiya, Shri Satyanarayan Sattan, Shri Sudarshan Gupta, Shri Gaurav Randive, Divisional Commissioner Shri Bhaskar Lakshakar, Collector Shri Shivam Verma, Police Commissioner Shri Santosh Singh, Municipal Commissioner Shri Kshitij Singhal, other public representatives, senior administrative officers and a large number of distinguished citizens were present on the occasion.
