Global Partnerships to Strengthen Through Concrete Projects: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav invited seven countries to participate as Partner Countries in the Global Investors Summit (GIS-2027), to be held in Bhopal in January 2027. He said Madhya Pradesh seeks to deepen investment and trade partnerships with countries through concrete projects, adding that the success of the Global Investors Summit would ultimately be measured by the implementation of investment proposals on the ground.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav addressed a roundtable meeting in Mumbai with Consuls General and diplomatic representatives of Japan, Mexico, Russia, the Republic of Korea, Thailand, the Arab Republic of Egypt and South Africa. He said, listening to the representatives, “Your suggestions will go with me to Bhopal.”

Partner Countries to Receive First-Hand Exposure to MP’s Industrial and Cultural Potential

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the ninth edition of the Global Investors Summit would be held in Bhopal in January 2027. He said he would personally meet delegations from countries participating as Partner Countries. The delegations would also be hosted at a dinner and introduced to different facets of Madhya Pradesh based on their areas of interest—from the industrial potential of Pithampur to the cultural heritage of Sanchi.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that since the Global Investors Summit-2025, investment proposals worth more than ₹8.5 lakh crore have moved to the implementation stage in Madhya Pradesh. He said GIS-2027 would similarly focus on ensuring that commitments made at the summit translate into projects on the ground.

International Engagement Translated into Investment Projects

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav recalled his interaction with several diplomatic representatives in Mumbai in October last year and said Madhya Pradesh has continued to strengthen its engagement with countries across the world, with plans to expand these partnerships further in the coming year.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, referring to the investment decision by UK-based Haleon, that the company decided in June to establish a manufacturing facility in Pithampur with an investment of around ₹2,000 crore. He said the project would require more than 40 acres of land and that Haleon’s Global CEO had personally visited Madhya Pradesh. The selection of Pithampur from among various options, he said, reflects the company’s confidence in the state.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also highlighted the decision of Japan’s more than century-old TOPPAN Group to select Pithampur for its new unit. The project involves an investment of around ₹950 crore, to be funded entirely through foreign investment.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said, referring to the proposal by Korea-based ECDS, that the company has proposed an investment of around ₹780 crore to establish its first unit in India at Ujjain. The facility will manufacture cancer diagnostic kits. He said, “What is discussed at the table in Madhya Pradesh translates into projects on the ground.”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also highlighted the BRICS Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting held in Indore in June and the Trade and Investment Forum with 15 Latin American countries, describing these initiatives as examples of international cooperation and expanding trade relations.

Invitation to Countries to Become Partner Countries at GIS-2027

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav urged the diplomatic representatives to convey to their respective capitals that Madhya Pradesh would like to see their countries participate as Partner Countries at GIS-2027. He also urged them to facilitate connections between Madhya Pradesh and bilateral chambers of commerce in their respective countries and encourage them to hold their annual general meetings in Bhopal. He said several chambers have already agreed to the proposal and the state team is in contact with them.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav warmly invited the representatives to visit Madhya Pradesh, assuring them that they would be guests of the state. He said, “Madhya Pradesh is the heart of India, and the nature of the heart is to connect everyone. We want to connect with your countries in the same spirit.”

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also invited the diplomatic representatives to Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain, which is expected to draw crores of devotees. He said the event would provide an opportunity to experience the spiritual and cultural heritage of India closely, alongside strengthening business partnerships.
