‘Rashtra Pratham Tiranga Utsav’ Receives Enthusiastic Response at Worli Sea Face
Mumbai, Aug 2026 : Although we are holding the Indian tricolour in our hands today, it also resides in our hearts. Respect for the Indian Constitution, national pride and a sense of patriotism are deeply rooted within us. The responsibility of building a new India now rests with every citizen. Only when we fulfil this responsibility will the tricolour in our hands acquire its true meaning, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said. He added that the Tiranga Yatra is not merely a rally but an initiative that seeks to awaken and strengthen the spirit of patriotism.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the ‘Rashtra Pratham Tiranga Utsav’ rally organised at Worli Sea Face. Highlighting the significance of the tricolour, Fadnavis spoke about India’s development and the vision of a new India. Assembly Speaker Adv. Rahul Narwekar, Cultural Affairs Minister Adv. Ashish Shelar, Skill Development Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, and MLAs Ravindra Chavan, Amit Satam, Yogesh Sagar, Mihir Kotecha, Captain Tamil Selvan, Rajhans Singh, Pravin Darekar, Prasad Lad and others were present.
Chief Minister Fadnavis said, “Today I can see two oceans here. One is the Indian Ocean in front of us and the other is an ocean of Indian tricolours.” He said the tricolour for which revolutionaries sacrificed their lives, soldiers laid down their lives at the borders and citizens fought for independence would continue to fly high as long as the sun and moon exist. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has become the world’s fourth-largest economic power and has made remarkable progress across various sectors. India became the first country in the world to land a spacecraft near the Moon’s south pole. The country has also made significant strides in space research, information technology, artificial intelligence, fintech and emerging technologies, he said.
Fadnavis said India is developing the world’s second-largest startup ecosystem and possesses the world’s largest youth population. “There is no power in the world that can stop this young generation from moving forward with the tricolour in their hands,” he said. India is emerging as a major global power, but its progress is causing concern among certain forces. Some foreign powers are attempting to hinder India’s rapid development, he said. However, no one can stop India’s development journey. Fadnavis expressed confidence that, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a new India, the country will emerge as a developed nation and occupy a leading position on the global map in the coming years.
Thousands of Mumbaikars gathered at Worli Sea Face for the rally. The enthusiasm of citizens, young people, students and NCC cadets carrying the national flag created an atmosphere charged with patriotism across the area. Slogans such as ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, ‘Jai Shivaji, Jai Bhavani’ and ‘Vande Mataram’, along with patriotic songs, reverberated throughout the venue.
