Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that by the grace of the Almighty, our body itself is a microcosm of the universe. From the time we leave the mother’s womb, the body continues to change every moment. He said the unique nature of the human body enables us to experience and recognise things not only through our eyes but also through various organs and the sense of touch. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the inaugural programme of the Pankh Marathon organised at Dussehra Maidan on Sunday. He flagged off the marathon and also performed Yog Asanas on stage, encouraging the participants and Yog practitioners present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said Ujjain, the city of Mahakal, holds special significance from a spiritual perspective. He said that just as Lord Mahakal resides in Ujjain, a Mahakal also resides within our own body. The Chief Minister said, “To know and experience Baba Mahakal, one must undertake an inner journey.” He said that along with seeking darshan of Baba Mahakal at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, seeking darshan of Sakshi Gopal is also considered significant. Remembering and worshipping both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu brings the blessings of both deities, he added.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, emphasising environmental conservation, called upon everyone to plant as many trees as possible. He said we receive oxygen from nature and trees, and therefore planting trees and protecting nature is also our duty. Just as Yog and exercise are essential for a healthy body, a clean and balanced environment is equally important for a healthy life.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the Almighty has blessed a part of our existence with immortality, which continues through generations in the form of family, lineage and gotra. During Pitru Paksha, we remember our ancestors and seek their blessings. He said Gaya Ji, Prayagraj and Shri Siddhavat on the banks of the Shipra in Ujjain are particularly renowned for offering prayers in remembrance of ancestors. People visit these sacred places to perform rituals for their ancestors, remember them and seek their blessings.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said highlighting Ujjain’s spiritual and natural significance, that there i s no other city in the world like Avantika Nagari, surrounded by a river. The presence of the sacred Shipra, believed to grant salvation, further enhances Ujjain’s religious and spiritual significance. He said the land of Ujjain has been important since ancient times for the presence and spiritual practices of the deities.
Mahamaṇḍaleshwar Shri Shaileshanand Giri Maharaj, Divisional Commissioner Shri Ashish Singh, ADG Shri Rakesh Gupta, DIG Shri Navneet Bhasin, Nagar President Shri Sanjay Agrawal, Collector Shri Roshan Kumar Singh, SP Shri Pradeep Sharma and a large number of runners and distinguished citizens were present on the occasion.
CM Dr. Yadav Performs Yog Asanas to Encourage Participants
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav performed various Yog Asanas on stage, drawing enthusiastic applause from those present. Men, women and girls from the 70–80 age groups also demonstrated Yog Asanas and Surya Namaskar before the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav appreciated the Yog practitioners and encouraged everyone to adopt a healthy lifestyle. At the start of the marathon, he shook hands with young children and runners to encourage them and also greeted those present. A large number of young people, children, senior citizens, men and women participated enthusiastically in the marathon.
Marathon Covers Various Routes fr om Dussehra Maidan
The Pankh Marathon was organised to promote physical fitness and create awareness among people about the importance of regular exercise. The marathon started from Dussehra Maidan and passed through Taran Tal, Kothi Road, Dewas Road, Pipe Factory and Vikram Nagar Railway Station before returning via the Police Lines and concluding at Dussehra Maidan. More than 2,000 young people, children and senior citizens participated enthusiastically in the marathon.
