New Delhi, Aug 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared glimpses of the Raksha Bandhan celebrations held at his official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, posting photographs and messages from the occasion on social media.
Sharing pictures from the festivities on X, PM Modi said the celebrations at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg had created “memorable moments” and expressed hope that the festival would strengthen bonds of affection and harmony.
“May this festival deepen the bonds of affection and harmony. May it bring happiness and prosperity to everyone,” the Prime Minister wrote.
In another post, Modi shared additional photographs capturing the lighter moments of the celebrations, accompanied by the message: “High fives, smiles and more during today’s Raksha Bandhan celebrations at 7, LKM.”
The photographs offered glimpses of the Prime Minister interacting with participants during the festivities and reflected the spirit of the festival, which celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters.
Earlier, PM Modi extended his greetings to people across the country on the occasion, highlighting the values of love, affection and mutual trust associated with Raksha Bandhan.
“Heartfelt wishes on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan,” Modi said in his message, expressing hope that the festival would bring happiness, prosperity and success to everyone.
He further wished that the bond of love, affection and mutual trust symbolised by the festival would remain “forever unbreakable”.
Raksha Bandhan is celebrated across India as a festival honouring the relationship between siblings, with sisters traditionally tying a rakhi around their brothers’ wrists and families coming together to celebrate the occasion.
