Thane, Aug 2026 : The 100-year-old historic ‘Officers Club’ in Thane, which is set to give a new direction to the sports, health and interpersonal interaction of administrative officers, has recently been renovated. The renovated club was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on the special occasion of the 80th Independence Day.
The modern transformation of this heritage structure, which carries a glorious legacy spanning a century, has created an atmosphere of enthusiasm among the officers. The premises have been revamped with the objective of providing officers with recreation from their busy administrative schedules, promoting their health and strengthening camaraderie among them.
The club now offers a range of modern facilities, including a state-of-the-art badminton court, table tennis, a billiards table, a well-equipped gymnasium and an excellent cafeteria. Thane District Collector and President of the Officers Club, Dr. Shrikrishna Panchal, has appealed to officers to actively use the historic club and transform the premises into a vibrant centre for health and interaction.
While preserving its 100-year-old heritage, giving the club a new look was a highly challenging task. The district administration and dignitaries have specially appreciated and congratulated all the officers and employees of the Public Works and Sports Departments who made dedicated efforts and made valuable contributions to completing the renovation work in a quality manner and within the stipulated time. With these new facilities, all officers now have access to a dedicated and quality platform for maintaining good health and coming together.
