Telangana SIR: 24,323 Form-7 Applications Received, 12,204 Voters Deleted

Hyderabad, Oct 2026: Election authorities in Telangana received 24,323 applications under Form-7 seeking deletion of names from electoral rolls during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), and 12,204 voters were removed from the rolls after verification, according to data released by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy.

The figures were released as the claims and objections phase of the SIR process concluded on October 7. The CEO’s office also published district-wise and constituency-wise data on applications received and disposed of under Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8.

During the claims and objections period from June 15 to October 7, election authorities received 4,88,417 Form-6 applications seeking fresh enrolment as voters. Of these, 51,821 applicants have been added to the electoral rolls, according to the latest status report.

The processing of Form-7 applications has attracted considerable attention in recent days following allegations of false and bulk applications seeking deletion of voters. The CEO had directed District Election Officers and Electoral Registration Officers to take action against applicants found to have knowingly submitted false declarations, following an inquiry as prescribed under election rules.

Hyderabad records highest Form-7 applications

Hyderabad district recorded the highest number of Form-7 applications at 6,335. After verification, authorities deleted 2,066 voters from the electoral rolls.

In Musheerabad constituency, where a BJP Booth Level Agent was booked by police over allegations relating to 30 false Form-7 applications, authorities received 151 applications and subsequently removed 87 voters from the rolls.

In Goshamahal constituency, which also witnessed complaints concerning Form-7 applications, 222 applications were received, of which 87 were accepted.

In Bahadurpura constituency, where pre-printed Form-7 applications had surfaced, 842 applications were received and 242 were accepted.

Rangareddy district recorded the second-highest number of Form-7 applications at 2,223, with 1,122 applications accepted. Medchal-Malkajgiri received 1,749 applications.

Peddapalli district recorded 1,737 Form-7 applications, with authorities deleting 1,332 voters following the processing of the claims.

The issue of alleged misuse of Form-7 applications has led to competing claims by political parties. Election officials have maintained that applications are subject to scrutiny and verification before voter names are deleted.

Over 4.88 lakh applications for new voters

The SIR data also showed substantial activity under Form-6. A total of 4,88,417 applications were received from citizens seeking inclusion in the electoral rolls, while 51,821 applicants have so far been added.

Under Form-6A, used for enrolment of overseas Indian voters, the authorities received 6,270 applications. Of these, 118 applicants were added to the electoral rolls. Hyderabad accounted for the highest number of Form-6A applications at 4,127, while 90 applicants from the district were enrolled.

Meanwhile, 5,05,159 Form-8 applications seeking corrections or modifications in electoral-roll entries were received. After verification, officials updated the records of 2,27,721 voters.

71.23 lakh voters cleared for final rolls

The CEO’s office has also reported that more than 71.23 lakh electors have been cleared for inclusion in the final electoral rolls following hearings and disposal of notices issued during the SIR process.

As of October 7, a total of 71,23,526 electors had been found eligible for inclusion in the final rolls.

Authorities had generated 92,88,180 notices during the notices and disposal stages because of logical discrepancies and non-mapping of records. Of these, 91,92,625 notices have been delivered, while 95,555 notices remain pending for delivery.

With the claims and objections stage now over, the deadline for disposal of applications is November 5, 2026. The final electoral rolls are scheduled to be published on November 9, 2026.

The Election Commission has also instructed officials to maintain scrutiny of applications and take action where knowingly false declarations are established, while ensuring that eligible voters are not removed without due verification.
