Telangana to Identify and Fill Government Vacancies Every Six Months, Says Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Aug 2026 : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that the state government will identify vacant government posts and undertake recruitment every six months, while urging unemployed youth to focus on competitive examinations instead of being influenced by what he termed the Opposition’s “false propaganda.”

Addressing a public meeting at Parkal in Warangal district on Sunday, Revanth Reddy said the government had a responsibility to provide employment opportunities, while young people should prepare seriously for recruitment examinations. “Filling vacancies is our responsibility and preparing for the exams is yours,” he said.

The Chief Minister criticised the previous Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) government, alleging that it had failed to fill government vacancies and left thousands of unemployed youth waiting for employment opportunities. He said the Congress-led government had already completed recruitment for around 72,000 government posts and issued notifications for police recruitment.

Revanth Reddy said the government had also relaxed the age limit for recruitment to provide additional opportunities to unemployed candidates. He appealed to youngsters not to be misled by political statements or promises and instead concentrate on their preparations.

The Chief Minister claimed that the state government had adopted a comprehensive approach towards the welfare of farmers, women and youth. He highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the government and said Telangana was emerging as a model in these areas.

Speaking about agriculture, Revanth Reddy said the government had taken steps to ensure adequate water availability for farmers despite what he described as the failure of the Kaleshwaram project. He claimed that efforts to fill reservoirs had helped farmers achieve good harvests.

According to the Chief Minister, the state government procured paddy worth approximately Rs 90,000 crore from farmers within 32 months. He also highlighted the implementation of the Rythu Bharosa scheme and the farm loan waiver programme, claiming that more than Rs 1 lakh crore had been spent on farmer welfare during the past two-and-a-half years.

Revanth Reddy also rejected Opposition allegations regarding the government’s agricultural policies and said the Congress government was responsible for providing a bonus for fine-variety paddy.

Turning to women’s empowerment, the Chief Minister alleged that the previous BRS government had discontinued the zero-interest loan facility, while the Congress government had restored zero-interest loans to help women become financially independent.

He said women’s self-help groups had been entrusted with the production of school uniforms and were being encouraged to participate in other economic activities, including operating solar power plants and petrol pumps.

The Chief Minister also launched a political attack on former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, alleging that the previous BRS government had given key positions to members of the KCR family.

Revanth Reddy claimed that KCR had appointed his son K.T. Rama Rao and son-in-law T. Harish Rao as ministers, while his daughter K. Kavitha became an MP and was later appointed an MLC after losing an election. He also referred to KCR’s brother-in-law’s son Santosh Rao becoming an MP and alleged that another family member, Vinod Rao, was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Planning Commission.

Contrasting the previous administration with his government, Revanth Reddy said the “People’s Government” was focused on ordinary citizens and would continue working to create employment opportunities, strengthen welfare programmes and improve economic opportunities for different sections of Telangana society.
