‘The message of Nasha Mukti from Kashi must reach every village in Jalgaon’ — MoS Raksha Khadse

Appeal to turn the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat’ campaign into a people’s movement; Emphasis on collective action by spiritual institutions, saints, administration and youth

A special meeting of representatives from spiritual institutions, saints and seers, public representatives, administration, voluntary organizations and social bodies was held today at the District Planning Bhavan, Collector Office, Jalgaon, to give a widespread people’s movement character to the nationwide ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat’ campaign launched on the appeal of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports, Smt. Raksha Khadse, addressed and guided the meeting through video conferencing.  

Also present were Minister Shri Sanjay Savkare, MLA Shri Raju Bhole, District Collector Shri Rohan Ghuge, Superintendent of Police Shri Shrikant Dhivare, CEO Zilla Parishad Smt. Karishma Nair, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Shri Abhishek Chavare, along with other administrative officials.  

Mahamandaleshwar Swami Janardan Hari Ji Maharaj graced the meeting with his presence. Representatives of various spiritual and religious institutions, saints, voluntary organizations and social sector also participated.

Guiding the meeting, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs & Sports Smt. Raksha Khadse urged for mass public participation in the Nasha Mukti campaign in Jalgaon district.

She said, The message of Nasha Mukti from Kashi must reach every village in Jalgaon. The energy of our youth should be used not in addiction, but in nation-building. Our effort will be to take the resolve that started from Jalgaon to every family and every young person and transform it into a widespread mass movement. A healthy, empowered and addiction-free youth generation is the real strength of a Viksit Bharat. For building a Nasha Mukt society, it is essential that along with the government, saints, spiritual institutions, social organizations, educational institutions and youth come forward together.”

Decisive role of spiritual institutions and saints

The meeting highlighted that given the wide reach of spiritual institutions and saints across all sections of society in Jalgaon district, their role in taking the message of Nasha Mukti to every village is extremely important. It was emphasized that they should continuously run awareness programs to convey the importance of an addiction-free lifestyle, self-discipline, positive thinking and healthy living to the youth.

Mahamandaleshwar Swami Janardan Hari Ji Maharaj said that the role of family, society and spiritual institutions is crucial in character building of youth.  

“To keep youth away from addiction, it is necessary to build their confidence, values and positive outlook towards life. Spiritual institutions and saints will actively participate in this awareness work,” he stated.

Focus on channelizing youth energy in positive directions

It was stated that mere awareness is not enough in de-addiction efforts. Youth must be connected with positive opportunities in sports, education, skill development, employment, volunteering and nation-building. The need for MY Bharat, NSS, youth clubs, educational institutions and social organizations to work in coordination to channelize youth energy into constructive and positive work was expressed.

Active participation of public representatives

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Shri Sanjay Savkare stressed the need for all sections of society to actively participate with the government in the Nasha Mukti campaign.

“Youth are the future of the country. Along with awareness, it is necessary to connect them with positive and constructive initiatives to keep them away from addiction. If this campaign gets public participation, its impact will certainly be widespread,” he said.

MLA Shri Raju Bhole emphasized the need to run continuous local initiatives to take the message of Nasha Mukti to the youth of Jalgaon city as well as the district.  

“For a Nasha Mukt society, every family and every citizen must participate in this effort. Giving youth the right direction and positive opportunities is our collective responsibility,” he said.

Action through coordination of administration and social organizations

The meeting discussed implementing continuous activities through coordination of MY Bharat, NSS, youth clubs, educational institutions, voluntary organizations, sports bodies, spiritual institutions and local administration for effective execution of the campaign.  

An appeal was made for various organizations to actively participate through their platforms to take the message of Nasha Mukti to every village in Jalgaon district, create awareness among youth and build a positive environment to stay away from addiction. 

Under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, it was resolved to give the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva – Viksit Bharat’ campaign the form of a widespread people’s movement in Jalgaon district and take the message of Nasha Mukti to every village, every family and every youth.
