Chief Minister Pays Tribute to Nine Forest Martyrs Who Sacrificed Their Lives for Forest and Wildlife Conservation

Gandhinagar : On September 11, National Forest Martyrs’ Day, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel visited the state’s first “Vanpal Memorial” to pay tribute to the forest martyrs. Since 2013, the Central Government has observed September 11th as National Forest Martyrs’ Day to honour Forest Guards, Foresters, Range Forest Officers, and other frontline personnel who laid down their lives for the protection and conservation of forests and wildlife. At the Van Chetana Kendra in Sector 30, Gandhinagar, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel paid homage to the nine forest martyrs from Gujarat who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Forest Minister Shri Mulubhai Bera and Minister of State Shri Mukeshbhai Patel honoured the forest martyrs by observing a two-minute silence. MLA Smt. Ritaben Patel, Principal Secretary of Forest and Environment Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Head of the Forest Force Shri U.D. Singh and senior officials of the forest department also paid their respects to the martyrs on this occasion.
