The Deputy Conservator of Forests, Chhimtuipui Wildlife Division, hereby issues the following notice concerning illegal hunting activities:

On 13th September 2024, during joint operations by Chhimtuipui Wildlife Division and Lunglei Forest Division, Lalkrawsmawia was apprehended at his residence in Fungkah, Lawngtlai District. In his possession, parts of hunted wildlife species were discovered, including three Gaur (Indian Bison), Sambar, and Wild Boar, along with an SBBL gun and other illegal hunting tools.

In violation of The Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, a criminal complaint was filed by the Range Officer of Ngengpui Wildlife Sanctuary in court. On 14th September 2024, Lalkrawsmawia was presented before the Lawngtlai Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and subsequently remanded to the Lawngtlai District Jail.
