Chief Minister Visits Government Aizawl College Foundation Day Celebration

Aizawl, Aug 2025: Today, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Government Aizawl College, Chief Minister Mr. Lalduhawma attended the foundation day celebration at the college campus, Mualpuiah.

During his address, the Chief Minister expressed his belief that the upgraded services provided by the Registrar for Partnership Institutions will offer faster, transparent, and easier access to citizens and partnership institutions. He noted that the college plays a pivotal role in educating children and enhancing the quality of education in the district.

Acknowledging the historical significance of the college, the Chief Minister highlighted that it has a rich tradition of providing quality education. He emphasized that improvements should be made to ensure that the educational facilities are equipped to meet current standards and can accommodate future growth.

The new campus aims for inclusivity and quality, with plans to ensure that development does not displace anyone living in the area. The Chief Minister assured that the government is focused on providing better facilities and housing for the people. He mentioned that proposals related to the development of the Ambabai Temple must be submitted promptly for approval and expressed the need for effective management of the ring system for new projects and initiatives in the district.

A review was conducted regarding the land at Shenda Park for a proposed IT park, and discussions were held about the availability of land for future projects, ensuring that there is adequate space for expansion. The Chief Minister directed that any final decisions should be made swiftly to secure the necessary land for development.

The Deputy Chief Minister also underscored the importance of maintaining effective communication among various officials and departments to facilitate seamless collaboration on development projects.

During the foundation day ceremony, various events such as Thanksgiving, Jubilee Ride, Pensioners Meet, Alumni Reconnect, Blood Donation, Outreach, National Seminar, Inter-College Basketball Tournament, and Inter-Higher Secondary School Dance Competition were planned to engage the community and promote the college’s legacy.

Overall, the event marked a significant milestone in the college’s history, celebrating its contributions to education in the region and reaffirming the government’s commitment to supporting its growth.
