Chhattisgarh Wins Gold in Women’s Football, Defeats Jharkhand
Raipur, April 2026 : Chhattisgarh delivered an outstanding performance in women’s football, defeating Jharkhand to win the gold medal.
In the final match of the women’s football event under the Khelo India Tribal Games, played at Swami Vivekananda Athletic Stadium in Kota, an exciting and closely contested clash was witnessed between Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
From the very beginning, both teams displayed strong gameplay. By the end of the first half, the score remained level at 0-0. Players from both sides showcased excellent defence and attacking skills, keeping the match highly thrilling throughout.
In the second half, the Chhattisgarh team adopted an aggressive approach. Team captain Kiran Pisda scored a crucial goal, giving Chhattisgarh a 1-0 lead. The team then successfully maintained this advantage till the end of the match.
Eventually, Chhattisgarh defeated Jharkhand 1-0 to claim the gold medal in the women’s football competition. The team demonstrated impressive skills and strong teamwork in the final.
The match remained thrilling for spectators throughout, and the players’ outstanding performance captivated everyone present. Secretary of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department Yashwant Kumar and Director Tanuja Salam were also present at the final match.
