Election of Maharashtra Medical Council to be Held on April 26, 2026By Team DGIPR – April 25, 2026

Mumbai, April 2026 : Elections for the selection of nine members to the Maharashtra Medical Council will be conducted across the state on April 26, 2026. A total of 60 candidates have filed nominations for this election, and around 1,40,000 registered and renewed medical practitioners will be eligible to cast their votes.

As per the provisions of the Maharashtra Medical Council Act, 1965, the nine members of the Council are elected by registered medical professionals whose registrations have been duly renewed.

For this election, polling will be conducted at district headquarters across the state under the supervision of the respective District Collectors. Detailed information regarding district-wise polling centers and voter lists has been made available on the official website of the Maharashtra Medical Council (www.maharashtramedicalcouncil.in).

Voting will take place on April 26, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The counting of votes is scheduled to begin on April 29, 2026, from 8:00 AM onwards and will continue until completion at the Haffkine Training, Research and Testing Institute in Parel, as informed by the Medical Education and Drugs Department through an official press release.
