Kumbh Mela Development Works to Be Accelerated: CM Devendra Fadnavis

Nashik, April 2026: Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said that development works related to the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela in Nashik and Trimbakeshwar are progressing satisfactorily and will be further accelerated in the coming period.

During his visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers at the Trimbakeshwar Temple and performed पूजा. Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including Food and Civil Supplies Minister Chhagan Bhujbal, Water Resources Ministers Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and Girish Mahajan, along with MLAs Ravindra Chavan and Hiraman Khoskar.

Senior officials and religious leaders also attended the visit. These included Kumbh Mela Authority Commissioner Shekhar Singh, Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil, and prominent seers such as Mahant Harigiri Maharaj (Juna Akhada), Mahant Ravindrapuri Maharaj (Niranjani Akhada), Mahant Shankaranand (Anand Akhada), Mahant Girijanand, and Mahant Ramkrishna Lahavitkar, along with trustees of the temple trust.

The temple administration honoured the Chief Minister during the visit. Chief Officer Yogesh Jadhav, along with Kailas Ghule and Manoj Thete, felicitated Fadnavis on behalf of the temple trust.

Speaking on the occasion, Fadnavis said that with the Kumbh Mela scheduled for next year, multiple infrastructure and development projects are currently underway in the region. He emphasised that as the Simhastha Kumbh Mela approaches, the state government is making concerted efforts to speed up these works to ensure smooth arrangements for pilgrims.

He further stated that he would soon hold discussions with the heads of various akhadas (religious sects) in Trimbakeshwar regarding ongoing and upcoming development works. A बैठक will be convened shortly to coordinate efforts and address key concerns related to the preparations.

The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that all necessary infrastructure, facilities, and arrangements are in place well ahead of the grand religious gathering, which is expected to draw millions of devotees from across the country and abroad.
