Government Positive About Fulfilling Demands of Teachers and Non-Teaching Staff: MoS Dr Pankaj Bhoyar
Mumbai, April 2026 : Minister of State for School Education Dr Pankaj Bhoyar has said that the government is taking a positive approach towards resolving various pending demands and issues of teachers and non-teaching staff across the state.
He made these remarks during a meeting held at the Mantralaya to discuss multiple concerns raised by teachers and support staff. The meeting was attended by MLA Dnyaneshwar Mhatre, Deputy Secretary Abasaheb Kawale, Director (Primary) Gosavi, Joint Director Shriram Panzhade, and office-bearers of various teachers’ associations.
Dr Bhoyar noted that due to technical issues over the past few months, the salaries of several teachers have been delayed. He directed officials to ensure that pending salaries are released immediately. He also instructed the Education Commissioner’s office to submit a detailed report on implementing a “single-tier pay scale” for teachers working in remote tribal areas.
Addressing complaints related to staff approvals and errors in submitted proposals, the Minister called for an integrated solution. He suggested organising special camps to rectify such errors and ensure timely processing. Furthermore, he directed that a dedicated cell be established in the Director’s office to handle grievances and issues related to staff approvals efficiently.
Dr Bhoyar also emphasised the need to maintain a balance between infrastructure facilities and the number of available teachers in junior colleges, directing that the capacity for practical classes be maintained as earlier.
Highlighting the additional responsibilities currently assigned to teachers, he pointed out that many are engaged in census work and election-related duties as Booth Level Officers (BLOs). He stressed the importance of coordinating these responsibilities while effectively implementing training programmes for the upcoming academic year.
The Minister further directed that a review be conducted through a study group to reduce the burden of non-academic and online tasks on teachers, ensuring that they can focus more on their core responsibility of education.
