Speed Up Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme Works; Ensure Quality and Timely Completion: Minister Meghna Sakore-Bordikar

Mumbai, April 2026 : Minister of State for Energy Meghna Sakore-Bordikar has directed officials to accelerate the implementation of the Chief Minister Solar Agricultural Feeder Scheme and other solar energy projects, ensuring that all works are completed within the stipulated time frame and with high quality standards.

The directives were issued during a review meeting held at the MSEB Holding Company office in Fort, Mumbai, where a detailed assessment of various ongoing solar projects was conducted. Senior officials from concerned departments across the state were present at the meeting.

Addressing the officials, the Minister said that if there are any obstacles in the transfer of land required for solar projects, the concerned agencies should coordinate with district collectors to resolve such issues immediately. She stressed that encroachments on land earmarked for these projects must be removed through legal means and that no delays should be allowed under any circumstances. She underlined the importance of coordinated efforts among all departments to ensure smooth and timely execution of projects.

Sakore-Bordikar further stated that the primary objective of the scheme is to provide uninterrupted and reliable daytime electricity supply to farmers through solar energy. This initiative is expected to reduce the cost of electricity for farmers and lessen the burden on conventional energy sources, thereby promoting sustainable and efficient power usage in the agricultural sector.
