Indecent remark against Prime Minister is a serious blow to democratic decorum: Chief Minister

Chief Minister slammed SP MP over remark against PM

He said the act reflects political misconduct, ideological bankruptcy, and disrespect towards the dignity of public life

Lucknow, May 2026 : A Samajwadi Party MP from Uttar Pradesh made an indecent remark against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday. Reacting strongly to the statement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath sharply criticised the SP MP and condemned the remark in strong words.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath wrote on his social media account ‘X’ that the unparliamentary remark made by an MP against the world’s most popular leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is not only indecent and unforgivable, but also a serious blow to democratic values and decorum in India.

The Chief Minister said, “The act of the SP MP reflects political misconduct, ideological bankruptcy, and disrespect towards the dignity of public life.”

CM Yogi also described the remark as “Insult to the mandate and trust of 145 crore Indians, as well as to the democratic dignity of the country.”

“The people of the nation will give a fitting reply to such undignified behaviour at the right time,” he added.
