DoNER Secretary Shri Sanjay Jaju Visits Champhai

Champhai, May 2026: Shri Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), visited Champhai district today and spent time reviewing various developmental activities in the region.

The DoNER Secretary was received by members of the Champhai District Agricultural Marketing Committee (DAMC) and SCC leaders. During the visit, Champhai Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aaquib briefed him on the current status of ginger (sawhthing) marketing and related issues in the district.

Following the interaction, Secretary Sanjay Jaju visited several important horticulture and food processing units in Champhai. These included the Winery at Zote, the Passion Fruit Processing Unit at New Champhai, and the Government Oak Tasar Seed Farm at Tlangsam, where he conducted on-site inspections.

He also visited the Zomi Cultural Centre and the Preservation of Zomi Historical Sites located at Tlangnuam Veng, reviewing efforts being made to preserve local heritage and cultural identity.

After completing his field visits, the Secretary held a meeting with departmental heads from Champhai district to discuss ongoing projects and development initiatives. He later proceeded to Aizawl to continue his official tour.

During the visit, Shri Sanjay Jaju was accompanied by Horticulture Secretary Smt. Maria CT Zuali.
