NEET-UG 2026 Re-Exam Scheduled for June 21 Amid Paper Leak Probe
New Delhi, May 2026 : The National Testing Agency (National Testing Agency) on Friday announced that the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 will be held on Sunday, June 21, following approval from the Central Government.
In an official statement posted on X, the agency confirmed the revised schedule and urged candidates and parents to follow only verified communication channels for accurate updates regarding the examination.
“NEET (UG) 2026 – Examination Date Announced. The National Testing Agency, with the approval of the Government of India, has scheduled the re-examination of NEET (UG) 2026 on Sunday, 21 June 2026,” the agency stated.
It further advised students to depend solely on official NTA platforms for information and shared its helpline numbers and email support, including neet-ug@nta.ac.in and contact numbers 011-40759000 and 011-69227700.
The announcement comes after the earlier cancellation of NEET (UG) 2026, which was conducted on May 3 and saw registration from over 22.79 lakh candidates across the country. The decision to cancel and reschedule the examination was taken in view of concerns raised over the integrity of the examination process.
According to the NTA, the cancellation followed detailed inputs reviewed in coordination with central agencies and investigative reports submitted by law enforcement authorities. The move was aimed at ensuring transparency and maintaining public confidence in one of India’s largest competitive entrance examinations.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (Central Bureau of Investigation) has intensified its probe into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 question paper leak case, expanding its investigation across multiple states.
Officials confirmed that four accused individuals have been taken to Delhi for further interrogation as part of efforts to uncover the broader network behind the alleged leak operation.
The accused include Jaipur-based brothers Dinesh Binwal and Mangilal Binwal, Mangilal’s son Vikas, and Yash Yadav from Haryana. They are being interrogated at the CBI headquarters through face-to-face questioning to establish the complete chain of events and identify other possible links in the alleged racket.
Earlier on Thursday, CBI teams conducted searches at the Binwal family residence in Jamwaramgarh, Jaipur. During the operation, officials questioned family members and recorded their statements as part of evidence collection.
Investigators also seized several digital devices, documents and electronic records from the family farmhouse and other associated properties, which are now being examined for forensic analysis.
Sources said the agency is focusing on reconstructing the timeline of events leading up to the alleged paper leak, including communication records, financial transactions and possible external involvement.
The case has triggered widespread concern among students and parents, given the scale of NEET-UG and its importance in medical admissions across India. Education experts have also called for stronger safeguards, including tighter digital security and real-time monitoring mechanisms for national-level examinations.
With the re-examination now scheduled for June 21, authorities are expected to introduce additional security protocols to prevent any further irregularities and restore confidence in the examination system.
