Parle Products Thanks PM Modi as “Melody” Toffee Gift Goes Viral on Global Stage

New Delhi, May 2026 : Parle Products Pvt Ltd on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after its popular “Melody” toffee gained unexpected global attention when it was featured in a viral moment shared by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

The social media post by Meloni, which showed a packet of Melody toffees gifted by PM Modi during their meeting in Rome, quickly went viral and captured massive global engagement, turning the Indian confectionery brand into an international talking point.

Reacting to the widespread attention, Parle Products took to social media platform X to thank the Prime Minister for showcasing the brand on a global platform. “Thank You Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking Parle Melody to the global stage. A proud moment for all of us at Parle Products to see an Indian favourite being shared across borders,” the company posted.

The company also shared the viral video on Instagram, captioning it as: “Sweetening relationships since 1983,” highlighting its long-standing presence in India’s confectionery market.

In the widely circulated clip, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni can be heard saying, “Prime Minister Modi brought us a gift, a very, very good toffee,” after which both leaders are seen smiling and jointly saying, “Melody,” in a light-hearted exchange that struck a chord with audiences worldwide.

The video rapidly gained traction on social media platforms and is reported to have crossed over 100 million views within hours, making it one of the most talked-about diplomatic moments of the day.

As the clip spread, terms such as “Parle” and “Melody” began trending on Google and X, with netizens sharing memes, reactions and commentary on the unexpected global spotlight for the Indian brand.

The viral moment also had a notable market ripple effect, with Parle-related search interest and brand visibility surging significantly. Reports suggested that a company bearing the Parle name saw a temporary spike in its stock price, although Parle Products Pvt Ltd, the maker of Melody, remains an unlisted entity and is separate from publicly traded firms.

Parle Products, known for its range of biscuits, confectionery and candies, has long been a household name in India. The “Melody” moment has now added an international dimension to its brand recognition, turning a simple diplomatic exchange into a global marketing phenomenon.
