Tripura: Vanghmun Police Station in North Tripura’s Jampui Hills Has Not Registered Any FIR In 2026.

Vanghmun; May 2026: In a rare and remarkable development from Tripura’s remote Jampui Hills, Vanghmun Police Station in North Tripura has not registered a single FIR or criminal case so far in 2026, demonstrating a rare benchmark in policing and social harmony, reflecting an extraordinary atmosphere of peace, public discipline in the region.

Confirming the matter, the Director General of Tripura Police Anurag Dhankar, IPS stated that “this year so far no case has been registered at Vanghmun Police Station,” highlighting the remarkable law-and-order situation prevailing in the Jampui Hills region.

Situated in the scenic Jampui Hills of North Tripura district near the India-Bangladesh border, Vanghmun Police Station covers an area inhabited mainly by Mizo, Bru and Chakma communities. Despite its ethnic diversity and remote geographical location, the region has maintained extraordinary peace and communal harmony.

Police officials believe that continuous community engagement, mutual trust between the police and local residents, and proactive social coordination have played a major role behind this achievement. Local leaders and civil society members have also contributed significantly in resolving minor issues amicably before they escalate into legal disputes. Vanghmun village, already known for its cleanliness, tourism potential and disciplined lifestyle, is now gaining recognition nationally for another reason, becoming a rare example where an entire police station jurisdiction has functioned without a single registered criminal case during the year.

The unprecedented development has turned the remote hill subdivision into a symbol of peace, communal harmony and successful community policing, drawing praise from different quarters across the country. At a time when police stations in most parts of India routinely deal with criminal complaints, disputes and law-and-order challenges, the complete absence of FIRs at Vanghmun Police Station has emerged as an exceptional example of social discipline and mutual understanding among people.

The officer-in-charge of Vanghmun Police Station, Sub-Inspector Lalringpuia Darlong, along with local police personnel, has also been credited for maintaining strong public trust and ensuring proactive policing across the region. The residents of Jampui Hills say the culture of brotherhood and mutual respect has existed in the area for generations. Community-based mediation and social understanding continue to play an important role in maintaining peace in everyday life.

THE REASON BEHIND 100% SUCCESS RATE:

As it is an international belief that – “Even The Most Dreadful Terrorist Wants To Live A Peaceful Life”; however Maverick News 30 while exploring the matter had an opportunity to come across useful information sourced from local inhabitants.

  • The police officer there rarely accept FIR given by the public. They usually forward the case to Young Mizo Association or either Young Bru Association for mutual understanding and further judgment. Anyway, the Officer and staffs there are friendly and supportive.
  • The Police Station caters to the least populated part of Tripura.
  • Crime is low in Jampui Hills due to religious discipline and strict social laws. Minor crimes committed by the MIZO community are punished through their social laws. Major crimes are not committed.

Team Maverick.
