Mango Delicacies Created by Chef Akanksha Roy Captivate Visitors

Raipur, May 2026 : The three-day National Mango Festival being held at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University has filled Raipur with the delightful aroma and taste of mangoes. On the second day of the festival, a large number of mango enthusiasts and visitors flocked to the venue.

Visitors explored a wide range of rare, popular, and improved mango varieties displayed at the exhibition and gathered information about their unique characteristics, taste, colour, size, and production methods. Renowned chef Akanksha Roy conducted special sessions for mango lovers, teaching recipes of various mango-based dishes. The delicious mango delicacies prepared by her greatly impressed the audience.

Mango growers from different states are showcasing and selling fruits of diverse mango varieties at the festival. The sales stalls also witnessed heavy footfall, with visitors purchasing their favourite mango varieties. Among the most sought-after varieties were Alphonso, Kesar, Dasheri, Fazli, and Arunima.

The opportunity to closely experience the diversity of mangoes, their flavours, and agricultural innovations generated considerable enthusiasm among visitors. The festival is emerging as a unique platform for knowledge-sharing, business opportunities, and culinary experiences for mango growers, entrepreneurs, and mango lovers alike.

Experts Share Tips on Mango Cultivation and Management

A technical session was organized on the second day of the National Mango Festival at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur, with the participation of a large number of farmers.

During the session, experts provided detailed information on various important aspects of mango cultivation. Discussions covered scientific methods of plantation, selection of improved varieties, pest and disease management, nutrient management, and modern horticultural practices.

Experts also addressed questions raised by farmers and offered practical suggestions and solutions. Guidance was provided on reducing production costs, improving fruit quality, increasing productivity, and securing better market prices for mango produce.

The interactive session helped farmers gain valuable insights into new technologies and scientific management practices related to mango cultivation, which are expected to contribute to higher incomes and enhanced productivity in the future.

Prize Distribution for Mango Dish Competition

A mango-based culinary competition was organized as part of the Mango Festival by the Department of Horticulture, Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, in collaboration with the Prakriti Ki Ore Society.

The competition was judged by renowned chef Akanksha Roy, who also shared recipes for a variety of mango dishes during the event.

The prizes were distributed by the chief guest, Mrs. Mamta Chandel, President of the Jai Haritima Ladies Club, Raipur.

In the competition, Shampa Yadav won the first prize, Anshika Nayak secured the second prize, and Sanvi Naidu received the third prize.
