Congress Launches Nationwide ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ Campaign from Kota, Rahul Gandhi to Raise Youth Issues
New Delhi, June 2026 : The Congress on Wednesday will launch its nationwide “Chhatron Ki Goonj” campaign from Rajasthan’s Kota, with Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi spearheading an agitation focused on paper leaks, recruitment irregularities, unemployment, and other concerns affecting India’s youth.
The initiative marks the beginning of a countrywide outreach programme aimed at amplifying the voices of students and job aspirants who have been impacted by examination controversies and delayed recruitment processes. The campaign’s launch in Kota, widely regarded as India’s coaching capital, carries symbolic significance as the city represents both the aspirations and challenges of millions of students preparing for competitive examinations.
Rahul Gandhi is expected to interact directly with students, competitive exam aspirants, educators, and youth groups during the event. The Congress hopes the campaign will evolve into a national movement highlighting what it describes as systemic failures in the education and recruitment framework.
Ahead of the launch, Gandhi reached out to young people through social media, acknowledging their frustration over repeated examination paper leaks, cancelled tests, and stalled recruitment drives.
“I know you’re exhausted. You’re angry. But remember this—when the government refuses to listen, you have to raise your voice louder,” Gandhi wrote on X.
Calling for collective action, he added: “Let’s come together and become a roar that can’t be ignored. Starting from Kota and reaching every corner of the country. This is a fight for your future. And I’m with you.”
Announcing the initiative, Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal said Rahul Gandhi would address a series of student conventions across the country in the coming weeks.
“Beginning from Kota, Rahul Gandhi will engage directly with students and competitive exam aspirants,” Venugopal said, adding that the campaign’s first phase would continue in Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11, and Delhi on July 14.
According to the Congress, recurring paper leaks, examination irregularities, increasing examination costs, and rising unemployment have created uncertainty and anxiety among young Indians. The party has repeatedly alleged that these issues have undermined faith in the fairness and transparency of the recruitment system.
Through “Chhatron Ki Goonj,” the Congress aims to mobilise students, teachers, youth organisations, and job seekers while taking their concerns to a broader national platform.
In a statement shared on the party’s official social media accounts, the Congress said the campaign was being launched under the leadership of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi to highlight challenges confronting India’s youth.
Venugopal stated that the campaign would bring together those directly affected by examination-related controversies and employment challenges. The objective, he said, is to draw attention to the struggles of millions of young Indians who face repeated disruptions in their educational and career aspirations.
Preparations for the Kota event are in full swing. Senior Congress leaders and an AICC team have already visited the city to inspect potential venues and oversee arrangements for the gathering.
Kota District Congress President Rakhi Gautam and Kota Rural Congress President Bhanu Pratap Singh said the city was deliberately chosen as the starting point because of its unique identity as the nation’s premier coaching hub. They noted that Rahul Gandhi had been invited to visit Kota during a recent conference in Pushkar.
According to local party leaders, the campaign seeks not only to highlight problems but also to provide students with a platform to voice their grievances and seek solutions related to education and employment.
As the Congress intensifies its outreach to young voters, “Chhatron Ki Goonj” is expected to emerge as a major political initiative centred on the concerns of India’s student community and aspiring workforce.
