Proposals will be implemented swiftly, delivering direct benefits to the public: TYADB Chairman Arvinder Singh Lovely

New Delhi, January 2026 : To significantly accelerate the pace of development in the Trans-Yamuna region home to nearly one-third of Delhi’s population, the Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board (TYADB) has taken decisive steps. At a meeting of the Board chaired by Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Thursday, development projects worth approximately ₹728 crore were approved. The Chief Minister stated that there would be no shortage of budgetary support for the development of the Trans-Yamuna region and directed Board members to prioritise projects based on actual needs.

The meeting, held at the Delhi Secretariat, was attended by Cabinet Minister Shri Kapil Mishra, Chairman of the Trans-Yamuna Area Development Board and MLA Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely, along with other distinguished Board members. Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta said that the development of the Trans-Yamuna region is among the Delhi Government’s highest priorities. The government’s objective is to develop the Trans-Yamuna region to such an extent that people choose to come and live here by choice.

She emphasised that balance in development works is essential and that, alongside beautification, priority must be given to citizens’ basic needs such as roads, drainage systems, prevention of waterlogging, and safe mobility. The Chief Minister expressed concern that during the previous government’s tenure, the Board had been rendered completely inactive, resulting in a near-total halt in development in the Trans-Yamuna region, causing severe inconvenience to residents.

She assured that all works recommended by the Board would be executed and that no financial constraints would be allowed to impede them. Keeping the upcoming monsoon in mind, she instructed officials to ensure the speedy resolution of issues related to damaged roads, drainage, and waterlogging. She noted that roads used daily by thousands of commuters require immediate improvement to prevent inconvenience and accidents.

Cabinet Minister Shri Kapil Mishra said that the reactivation of the Board under the leadership of Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta is a historic and decisive step towards the development of the Trans-Yamuna region. For a long time, the Trans-Yamuna region was deprived of development despite its growing population and increasing needs. Concrete efforts are now being made to correct this imbalance. He stated that infrastructure development in the Trans-Yamuna region would be carried out at the same level as seen in certain parts of Delhi during the Commonwealth Games. Special focus will be placed on roads, drainage, public amenities, and tourism-related works so that the Trans-Yamuna region can be counted among Delhi’s major developed areas.

Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, Board Chairman Shri Arvinder Singh Lovely said that the proposals submitted by all MLAs for the development of the Trans-Yamuna region are extremely significant. He stated that this collective effort would play a key role in transforming the region’s basic infrastructure landscape. He expressed confidence that under the Chief Minister’s leadership, these proposals would be decided upon and implemented swiftly, ensuring tangible benefits for the residents of the area.
