Government Stands Strong Behind Farmers Affected by Unseasonal Rain: Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil
Jalgaon, January 2026: Following heavy unseasonal rainfall across various talukas, significant damage has occurred to agricultural crops in the district. Guardian Minister Gulabrao Patil has directed the administration to immediately conduct crop damage assessments (panchanamas) to provide timely assistance to affected farmers. The government assured that all eligible farmers will receive aid as per established norms. Speaking with farmers, the minister emphasized that the administration is committed to ensuring justice and support for every affected cultivator.
In light of last week’s unseasonal rains, Minister Patil conducted an on-site inspection of damaged areas in Dharangaon taluka—including Borgav Budruk, Garkheda, and Pashtane Budruk—and in Jalgaon taluka, including Karanj, Dhanora, and Dhardi. During the visit, he observed extensive crop losses and personally interacted with farmers in their fields to understand their challenges.
The minister instructed farmers whose crops were affected to register their names at the Talathi office. Following this, panchanamas will be conducted, and the lists of affected farmers will be published at the Gram Panchayat office. In addition, he directed immediate repairs of fallen electricity poles and disrupted power lines in multiple areas, ordering Mahavitaran officials to restore electricity without delay.
During the inspection, farmers submitted their grievances and petitions directly to the minister. Minister Patil reassured them that the government stands firmly behind them and every eligible farmer will receive rightful assistance.
The inspection was attended by Additional District Collector Shrimant Harkar, District Agriculture Officer Kurban Tadvi, Group Development Officer Kishor Wankhede, Tehsildar Sheetal Rajput, Naib Tehsildar Laxman Satpute, Board Officials Ashish Wagh and Jyoti Chaudhary, Taluka Agriculture Officer K.H. Desale, Talathi Jeevan Kumar Khokle, Jyoti Lokhande, along with the sarpanches, local representatives, officials, and a large number of farmers from the affected villages.
