Commercial LPG Prices Hike Rs 49 from Feb 1, Impacting Hotels and Restaurants
New Delhi, Feb 2026 : Commercial LPG cylinder prices have risen by Rs 49 from February 1, increasing costs for businesses that depend on these cylinders for daily operations. Oil marketing companies announced the hike as part of their routine monthly price revision.
The increase affects the 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder, widely used by hotels, restaurants, and small food outlets. In Delhi, the new retail price of a commercial cylinder is Rs 1,740.50. Kolkata sees the revised price at Rs 1,844.50, Mumbai at Rs 1,692, while Chennai remains the most expensive at Rs 1,899.50 after the hike.
Despite the increase for commercial users, domestic LPG prices for the 14.2-kg cylinder remain unchanged, providing some relief to households. Oil companies confirmed that cooking gas prices for home consumers have not been revised from February 1.
Officials explained that LPG prices are reviewed monthly, with adjustments made based on global fuel rates, exchange rates, and transportation costs. The latest increase comes just 32 days after the start of the year, bringing the cumulative rise to Rs 160 for commercial cylinders.
The hike is expected to affect the food and hospitality sector, where commercial LPG is an essential fuel for cooking and day-to-day operations. Businesses may face higher operational costs, which could lead to an increase in food prices in the coming days.
Prior to this revision, commercial LPG prices had been relatively moderate. Since April 2025, commercial cylinder rates were reduced six times, with a total cumulative cut of Rs 223 per cylinder, including minor reductions in November and December.
The ongoing price adjustments reflect market dynamics and underline the difference between commercial and domestic LPG pricing, keeping household users insulated from fluctuations in global fuel markets.
The February 1 hike underscores the rising costs for businesses reliant on commercial LPG, signaling potential operational challenges for restaurants, hotels, and other small enterprises.
