Over 28 lakh applications received under PM Vishwakarma Yojana in UP
Lucknow : The Yogi government is actively working to uplift the living standards of the poor and marginalised people in Uttar Pradesh through various schemes. A key initiative in this effort is the implementation of the central government’s PM Vishwakarma Yojana in the state.
Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the second state, after Madhya Pradesh, with the highest number of applicants seeking benefits from the scheme. With over 2.8 million applicants, the state government plans to provide loans to those who complete a three-tier verification and training process.
So far, a total of 28,42,247 applications have been received in Uttar Pradesh through the Vishwakarma portal. The only state ahead of Uttar Pradesh is Madhya Pradesh, with 29,18,456 applications. Out of the applications received in UP, 14,10,723 have been recommended at the first level, 85,689 at the second level, and 43,026 have received approval at the third level.
It is worth noting that 18 different trades, as specified by the Government of India under the MSME sector, have been included in the scheme. These trades include carpenters, boat makers, weapon makers, blacksmiths, hammer and toolkit makers, locksmiths, stone breakers, jewellers, potters, cobblers, masons, basket, mat, and broom weavers, doll and toy makers, barbers, garland makers, washermen, tailors, and fishnet makers.
Through the PM Vishwakarma portal, over 28 lakh online applications have been received in these trades. The scheme will include only those individuals who have not received benefits from any other state or central government scheme within the last five years.
Under the scheme, beneficiaries will receive a PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card, along with benefits such as skill upgradation, toolkit incentives, credit support, incentives for digital transactions, and marketing support.
