Women thank the Chief Minister for the decision to provide free LPG support during Holi and Diwali

CM Rekha Gupta: “People come first—serving them is our mission”

New Delhi, February 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Smt. Rekha Gupta on Wednesday patiently heard the concerns and suggestions of residents from across the city during a public hearing held at the Chief Minister’s Jan Seva Sadan. Reaffirming her commitment to “governance of the people, by the people,” she took every complaint seriously and instructed senior officials from the concerned departments to ensure swift, on-the-spot solutions.

Issues related to education, healthcare, pensions, damaged roads, waterlogging, and sanitation featured prominently during the hearing. The Chief Minister interacted personally with citizens and immediately took note of their written petitions. She made it clear to officials that any negligence in resolving grievances raised at the public hearing would not be tolerated.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister said that in a democracy, the people are paramount. Public hearings are not merely a forum to listen to problems; they are a vital way to strengthen trust between the government and citizens. When people can place their concerns directly before the Chief Minister and see action taken, confidence in the administration grows. She reiterated that her government is fully accountable and firmly committed to the welfare of every resident of Delhi.

Public appreciation for the free LPG support scheme

During the hearing, women and middle-class families from various assembly constituencies expressed their gratitude for the government’s decision to provide financial support for free LPG cylinders during Holi and Diwali. They said the cabinet’s approval of a ₹242 crore budget and the transfer of ₹853 directly into beneficiaries’ bank accounts had added to the joy of their festivals. Calling it a major relief, women noted that in times of rising prices, the scheme would significantly ease pressure on household kitchen budgets.

Responding to the appreciation, the Chief Minister said that the trust and blessings of the people inspire the government to work even harder. Hearing firsthand how government initiatives are making a positive difference in people’s lives strengthens their resolve. She emphasized once again that her government remains fully accountable, with public service as its sole objective.
