Rajim Kumbh Kalp 2026 Showcases Faith, Culture and Chhattisgarhi Traditions

Raipur, February 2026: On the auspicious occasion of Rajim Kumbh Kalp 2026, the State’s Tourism and Culture Minister Shri Rajesh Agrawal visited the banks of the Triveni Sangam, where he warmly interacted with revered religious leaders, saints from various akharas and peeths, and lakhs of devotees. He conducted a thorough inspection of the arrangements at the Kumbh venue and instructed officials to ensure that devotees face no inconvenience.

The Minister met saints from different akharas at the Kumbh site and sought their blessings. The saints praised the grandeur of the Kumbh and appreciated the efforts of the state government. Shri Agrawal also interacted with devotees, listened to their concerns, and issued on-the-spot directions for prompt resolution.

At the stall of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (Bihan), the Minister interacted with women self-help group members (Bihan Didis). He sampled traditional Chhattisgarhi delicacies such as cheela, fara, and thethri, and lauded their culinary skills. Shri Agrawal said that the hard work of the Bihan Didis is not only strengthening their economic condition but is also showcasing Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage on a global platform through a mega event like the Rajim Kumbh.

The Minister also visited stalls displaying tribal handicrafts made from bamboo and wood, where he met local artisans, closely admired sculptures, showpieces, and utility items, and encouraged them by making purchases. He stated that the state government would promote local handicrafts at the national level through the Rajim Kumbh.

Shri Agrawal inspected the lifelike replica of the Ram Van Gaman Path created at the Kumbh site. Depicting Chhattisgarh’s mythological Ram Van Gaman route through paintings and sculptures, the replica has emerged as a major attraction for devotees. The Minister praised its detailing and artistic excellence.

Reviewing other arrangements at Rajim Kumbh Kalp 2026—such as water supply, sanitation, medical facilities, traffic management, and security—the Minister issued necessary instructions to the concerned officials to ensure smooth arrangements for the large gathering of devotees.

On the occasion, MLA Shri Rohit Sahu, Gariaband Collector Shri B. S. Uike, SDM Shri Vishal Maharana, and officials and staff of the Gariaband district administration and the Tourism and Culture Department were present.

Rajim Kumbh Kalp 2026 has become a vibrant symbol of Chhattisgarh’s Sanatan traditions, with lakhs of devotees taking holy dips at the Triveni Sangam.
