CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Participates in Shiv Katha, Prays for Peace and Prosperity of Uttarakhand

Feb 2026 : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday participated in a Shiv Katha (sacred discourse on Lord Shiva) organized by the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan in Haldwani, describing the occasion as a moment of deep spiritual fulfillment and pride. During the event, the Chief Minister took part in the Sahaj Jyoti Puja, lit 108 lamps, and sought divine blessings for peace, prosperity, and happiness across the state.

Addressing devotees gathered for the Shiv Katha, Chief Minister Dhami said it was a matter of great fortune for him to be associated with such a sacred and spiritually uplifting program. He noted that bowing at the holy feet of Lord Shiva on this auspicious occasion brought him inner peace and spiritual strength. The Chief Minister emphasized that such religious discourses not only strengthen individual faith but also help in nurturing positive values and harmony within society.

Praising the role of the Divya Jyoti Jagriti Sansthan, Dhami said the organization has been consistently working to transform negative thinking into a positive and constructive outlook. He paid heartfelt tribute to the founder of the Sansthan, Divya Guru Param Pujya Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji, recalling his spiritual grace, divine energy, and disciplined practice. According to the Chief Minister, the teachings and inspiration of Shri Ashutosh Maharaj Ji have guided countless individuals toward the path of faith, service, compassion, and moral values, leaving a lasting impact on society.

The Chief Minister highlighted the unique spiritual legacy of the Kumaon region, stating that the entire area has remained a center of religion, spirituality, and cultural consciousness for centuries. He said that this sacred land continues to uphold its rich traditions of penance, devotion, and worship of Lord Shiva. References to the region’s temples, Shiva pilgrimage sites, holy rivers, and sacred water sources found in ancient scriptures, Puranas, and historical records stand testimony to its long-standing association with Sanatan and Shaivite traditions. Organizing a Shiv Katha in such a spiritually charged region, he added, further enhances its divine and cultural significance.

Dhami also spoke about the broader national context, noting that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s Sanatan culture has gained global recognition and emerged as a source of inspiration for the world. Drawing inspiration from this vision, the Uttarakhand government is working with firm resolve to preserve, promote, and rejuvenate the cultural and spiritual heritage of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand.

He informed that under the Manaskhand Temple Mala Mission Corridor, ancient temples of the Kumaon region are being given a renewed identity. As part of this initiative, extensive work related to renovation, beautification, and development of Shiva temples and other religious sites is being carried out at a rapid pace. In addition, projects such as the rejuvenation of the Yamuna pilgrimage site in Haripur-Kalsi, the Ganga Corridor in Haridwar-Rishikesh, and historically significant initiatives like the Sharda Corridor are aimed at firmly placing Devbhoomi Uttarakhand on the national and international spiritual tourism map.

The Chief Minister further stated that a Centre for Hindu Studies has been established at Doon University to promote in-depth research and study of Indian culture, philosophy, and history. He said this initiative would help build a strong intellectual and cultural foundation for future generations. Alongside this, the government is moving swiftly toward the establishment of one Spiritual Economic Zone each in the Garhwal and Kumaon divisions, focusing on Ayurveda, Yoga, naturopathy, and spiritual tourism.

Reiterating the government’s commitment, Dhami said Uttarakhand is fully dedicated to safeguarding its cultural identity, social harmony, and original character. He stressed that this commitment is reflected not just in words but in firm decisions, bold administrative reforms, and decisive actions. Emphasizing the goal of securing a bright future for the children of Devbhoomi and building a strong, harmonious Uttarakhand, the Chief Minister said the state government is moving forward with unwavering determination to make Devbhoomi Uttarakhand the best state in the country.
