‘Vande Mataram Cyclothon 2026’ Organised by the Central Industrial Security Force
Mumbai, Feb 2026 : To mark 27 years of its glorious service and to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the song “Vande Mataram”, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has organised the “Vande Mataram – Surakshit Tatham, Samruddh Bharatam Cyclothon 2026.” Under this initiative, a CISF contingent of 65 cyclists will travel along the coastal route in the state between February 10 and 14, 2026. The team will enter Maharashtra on February 10, 2026, at Juchandra (Vasai taluka, Palghar district).
Through this initiative, the cyclothon will cover the coastal belts of nine coastal states and four Union Territories of India, spreading awareness among coastal communities about threats such as drug trafficking, arms and explosives smuggling, and other security challenges. The programme also aims to promote public awareness about the role of security agencies in strengthening coastal security, as well as India’s rich heritage, traditions, and history.
On February 10, between 11 am and 1 pm, the cycling team will be flagged off by the Tarapur CISF Unit, followed by a cultural programme. The team will halt at the Chandika Devi Temple in Juchandra village. On February 11, the team will arrive at the Gateway of India, Mumbai, where an event will be organised between 8.30 am and 10 am. The night halt will be at Kurul (Alibag taluka, Raigad district). On February 12, cricket and volleyball matches will be organised with local villagers at Kurul, followed by a cultural programme at 5 pm at the Zilla Parishad ground.
As part of the initiative, on February 13 at 7.45 am, the team will be flagged off at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University, Lonere (Raigad district), along with a cultural programme. The team will halt at Anjanvel village (Ratnagiri district). In the final leg of the journey in Maharashtra, on February 14, a cultural programme will be organised at the Police Ground in Ratnagiri, followed by a night halt at Pural (Devgad taluka, Sindhudurg district).
After this, the cycling team will proceed to Goa for the next phase of the journey.
