Bill Gates to Visit Andhra Pradesh, Hold Talks on Health, Education and Tech-Driven Governance
Amaravati, Feb 2026 : Founder Chairman of the Gates Foundation, Bill Gates, will visit Andhra Pradesh on Monday as part of an official engagement aimed at strengthening cooperation between the state government and the Foundation across key development sectors.
Bill Gates will lead a high-level delegation from the Foundation and is scheduled to hold extensive discussions with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and IT Minister Nara Lokesh. The deliberations will focus on expanding collaboration in education, healthcare, agriculture, and the use of technology to improve governance and public service delivery.
According to official sources, the Andhra Pradesh government plans to scale up several ongoing initiatives in partnership with the Gates Foundation. These efforts aim to improve outcomes in public health, modernise education systems, and promote innovation-driven agricultural practices across the state.
As per the itinerary, Bill Gates will arrive at the State Secretariat at 10 a.m. and subsequently visit the Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) Centre. During the visit, he will be briefed on how real-time data analytics and digital platforms are being utilised to enhance transparency, efficiency, and responsiveness in governance.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will personally explain the state’s real-time governance framework and share insights into how technology-driven decision-making has improved service delivery. This will be followed by a detailed meeting involving Cabinet ministers, senior officials, and members of the Gates Foundation delegation.
Naidu is also expected to make a comprehensive presentation on the reforms undertaken to achieve the objectives of Swarnandhra Vision–2047. The presentation will cover major initiatives in public health, agriculture, education, MedTech innovation, diagnostic services, and the Sanjeevani healthcare programme.
The state government will provide a detailed demonstration of the Sanjeevani project, which is being implemented with the cooperation of the Gates Foundation. The initiative focuses on strengthening primary healthcare delivery and improving access to medical services, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
Later in the day, the Gates Foundation team will visit a farm near Undavalli village in Amaravati to observe advanced farming practices supported by drone technology and artificial intelligence. The visit will showcase how digital tools are being used to enhance productivity, resource efficiency, and sustainability in agriculture.
Earlier, the Chief Minister had stated that the Sanjeevani project would play a crucial role in improving public health services in the state. Speaking in the Assembly, he noted that with support from the Gates Foundation, Andhra Pradesh plans to develop digital health records, enabling personalised medicine and more effective healthcare delivery for citizens.
