Chief Minister Extends Greetings and Best Wishes to the People of the State on Mahashivratri
Raipur, February 2026 : On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, along with his wife Mrs. Kaushalya Sai, visited Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba Dham located at village Kosmanara during his Raigarh tour, reaching the dham at around 1 a.m. late at night. The Chief Minister performed traditional prayers to Lord Bholenath and Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba, and prayed for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state. On this occasion, he extended warm greetings and best wishes to all residents of the state on the festival of Mahashivratri.
During the visit, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stones for various development works worth ₹1.20 crore under the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) fund. The proposed works include construction of a granite flooring and shed in front of the main building, sheds for rest and meals of devotees, construction of a toilet complex building, and cement concrete road construction for the parking area. Congratulating the local residents for these development initiatives, the Chief Minister said that these works would provide better facilities and convenience to devotees visiting the dham.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the Kosmanara dham is a major centre of faith and devotion. He noted that the spiritual energy of the place gives society a positive direction and inner strength. He added that the state government is continuously moving forward on the path of public welfare with the blessings of spiritual leaders and the trust of the people.
It is noteworthy that this dham, located about seven kilometres from the Raigarh district headquarters, has for years been a prominent centre of devotion for devotees. A large number of pilgrims visit the site to seek blessings of Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba and Lord Bholenath. According to local belief, Shri Shri 108 Shri Satyanarayan Baba has been engaged in rigorous penance since 1998. In 2003, he was bestowed with the title of ‘Shri Shri 108’, following which the fame of the dham increased further.
It is said that Baba collected stones and shaped them into a Shivling, making that very spot his sacred place of penance. Performing spiritual austerities under the open sky through all seasons—rain, summer and winter—has become the defining feature of his devotion to Lord Bholenath.
On this occasion, Mayor Jeevardhan Chauhan, Municipal Corporation Chairman Digreelal Sahu, local public representatives, sarpanches, distinguished citizens, Collector Mayank Chaturvedi, Senior Superintendent of Police Shashimohan Singh, other administrative officials, and a large number of devotees were present.
