Maharashtra Mining and Investment Conference to Be Held in April – Mining Minister Shambhuraj Desai
Mumbai, February 2026 — Maharashtra’s Mining and Investment Conference will be organized in Mumbai in April, with a focus on boosting investment and employment in the state’s mining sector, directed State Mining Minister Shambhuraj Desai.
Minister Desai was speaking at a meeting held at Meghdoot, the official government residence. Also present were Minister of State for Mining Pankaj Bhoyar, Additional Chief Secretary of the Mining Department Ashwini Bhide, and senior departmental officials.
Minister Desai stated that dialogue sessions should be organized to understand measures for increasing investment in the mining sector, information on minerals available in the state, employment opportunities in the sector, and expert opinions. He emphasized that the planning of the conference should align with the goals of Developed India 2047. Special focus should be placed on developing mining-related industries and increasing participation from entrepreneurs, partners, investors, and industry experts.
He further stressed strengthening linkages between the mining and tourism sectors. The minister also directed that the conference should comprehensively present information on various approvals granted to the mining department by the central and state governments, along with measures to simplify and streamline these permissions.
