Over 1.64 lakh devotees visit Kashi Vishwanath Temple on the last Monday of Shravan month
Varanasi : With profound devotion, over 1.64 lakh devotees Lord Shiva devotees thronged Kashi Vishwanath Temple on the last Monday of the Shravan month. Kashi began to resonate with Baba’s spirit from Sunday night itself.
On the last and fifth Monday, the city echoed with the powerful chants of “Har Har Mahadev.” The occasion marked the Shankar Parvati Ganesh Shringar and the annual Jhula Shringar of Kashi Puradhipati on Shravan Purnima. Devotees were filled with joy witnessing this divine form of Baba.
The Yogi government also continued showering flowers on the devotees on the final Monday. Over 53.84 lakh devotees sought Baba’s blessings at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple during the 29 days of Shravan, which began on July 22.
Throughout Shravan, Kashi was adorned with the sight of saffron-clad Kanwariyas lining the streets as devotees’ faith overflowed in Shankar. Vishwa Bhushan Mishra, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple Trust, shared that Baba Vishwanath was adorned in various divine forms on the first four Mondays, with special Shankar Parvati Ganesh Shringar and the annual swing decoration on Shravan Purnima taking place on the final Monday.
By 5 PM on the fifth Monday of Sawan, more than 1,64,716 devotees had visited Baba, bringing the total number of devotees to over 53.84 lakh from July 22 to August 19. Under the steadfast leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the events associated with Shravan in Kashi were completed successfully.
On the first day of Shravan, the Chief Minister visited Kashi to assess the situation and provide necessary instructions, which led to the administration’s flawless plan. This careful planning ensured smooth crowd management and efficient arrangements. The Yogi government upheld the faith of the devotees, ensuring their security and ease of darshan throughout Shravan.
More than three lakh devotees visited the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Corridor each Monday of Shravan, with continuous vigilance maintained by the administration, police, commandos, traffic department, medical teams, disaster management, fire brigade, NDRF, and water police. Additionally, provisions like German hangars, drinking water, wet carpets, industrial coolers, and snacks were made available throughout the month.
