Jaipur, February 2026 : Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla laid the foundation stone and inaugurated development works worth a total of ₹103 crore at the ancient Maa Beejasan Temple in Indargarh. These include a ropeway project costing ₹18 crore and the newly constructed Bansi–Dei–Khajuri–Karwar–Indargarh road built at a cost of ₹62 crore.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Birla said that Maa Beejasan Temple, a centre of faith for centuries, is not only a major pilgrimage site for the Hadoti region but also for devotees from across the state and the country. He said the ropeway will provide significant relief to elderly devotees, women, and divyang (persons with disabilities), who earlier faced difficulties due to the steep climb to the temple. He added that, as the area falls within a sanctuary zone, special care has been taken to maintain environmental balance while executing the development works.
Shri Birla noted that the ropeway is expected to increase the number of devotees visiting the temple, which will, in turn, boost local trade and employment. He said religious tourism is growing rapidly in Rajasthan, and Indargarh will emerge as an important destination on the state’s tourism map.
He further stated that continuous efforts are being made to develop the Hadoti region as a major centre of spiritual tourism. Development works worth around ₹42 crore at Keshoraipatan, construction of the Shri Mathuradheesh Temple Corridor, and upgradation of other prominent religious sites are strengthening the region’s spiritual identity. These projects, he said, will enhance facilities for devotees and strengthen the local economy through tourism.
Referring to the newly inaugurated Bansi–Dei–Khajuri–Karwar–Indargarh road, Shri Birla said the ₹62 crore project has significantly improved connectivity in the region. Better rural connectivity will ease transportation and accelerate economic activities. He emphasized that basic infrastructure such as roads, drinking water, irrigation, and electricity forms the foundation of development.
Shri Birla added that several development works are currently underway in the region and road connectivity will be further strengthened in the coming years. Along with this, work is progressing on drinking water and irrigation projects, including the ERCP and Navnera schemes. He said efforts are also being made to increase farmers’ income by promoting modern agricultural practices.
