Training under Swachh Tulip Internship Programme

Under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban, continuous efforts are being made in the urban areas of the state to achieve the goals of cleanliness. The role of youth has been considered crucial to achieve the goals in the field of cleanliness. Keeping this in mind, Swachh Tulip Internship Programme is being started in the state. This programme includes a plan to train youth along with the students.

Application forms have been invited by the Directorate of Urban Administration and Development for training. Applicants interested in the programme can apply on the Tulip portal till August 31, 2024. For this, information can be obtained through the link for the registration and application process. This programme has been started by the Ministry of Urban Affairs of the Central Government across the country.

Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan

Activities under the name of Child Cabinet have been started for the development of sanitation infrastructure in the schools of the state. For this, activities are being carried out through the Government Inter-Departmental Coordination Committee.

With the technical and financial assistance of UNICEF, work is being done to upgrade the one and two star schools in the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar last year to three stars and above on the basis of cleanliness marks shown through the partner organisations. Last year, more than 47 thousand schools participated under the Swachh Vidyalaya Puraskar. The school selected by the Ministry of Education of the Central Government was awarded the national level cleanliness award.

Global Hand-Wash Day

More than 60 lakh children from more than one lakh schools participated in cleanliness activities. On Global Hand-Wash Day on 15 October-2023, more than 52 lakh children participated in the hand washing programme. On this day, children were given information about the importance of cleanliness. Children are also being continuously educated about the use of clean water in schools.
