Georgia Voll’s Brilliant Century Seals Series as Australia Cruise Past India in Hobart ODI
Hobart, Feb 2026 : A sublime century from Georgia Voll powered Australia to a dominant five-wicket win over India in the second One-Day International at the Bellerive Oval on Friday, sealing the ODI series and extending their advantage to 6-4 in the ongoing multi-format contest.

Chasing a modest target of 252, Australia produced a near-flawless batting performance, completing the chase in just 36.1 overs with a remarkable 83 balls to spare. The ease of the victory underlined India’s struggle to post a truly challenging total on a pitch and outfield that offered little help to the bowlers and rewarded positive stroke play.
India had earlier posted 251 for 9, a total built around composed half-centuries from Harmanpreet Kaur and Pratika Rawal. While both batters showed composure and intent, the innings lacked the late acceleration required to put sustained pressure on a powerful Australian batting line-up. Australia’s disciplined bowling, led by Ashleigh Gardner and Alana King, ensured India never truly broke free.
Australia’s chase began with a minor wobble when captain Alyssa Healy, who had scored a half-century in the opening ODI in Brisbane, was bowled early by Kashvee Gautam. The breakthrough, however, proved to be India’s only moment of early celebration.
From there, Australia seized control through a magnificent second-wicket partnership between Voll and Phoebe Litchfield. The duo added 119 runs, decisively shifting momentum Australia’s way. Litchfield was particularly aggressive, unfurling a flurry of boundaries and putting India’s bowlers under relentless pressure. She brought up her half-century off just 42 balls and went on to score a sparkling 80 from 62 deliveries, decorated with 11 fours and a six.
In the process, Litchfield became the second-youngest Australian batter to reach 2,000 international runs, behind only the legendary Meg Lanning. Her innings ended when she attempted an audacious lap shot off Kranti Gaud, only to be bowled, but by then Australia were firmly in command.
Voll, unfazed by Litchfield’s departure, elevated her game with maturity beyond her years. Given a lifeline on 19 when a tough chance was spilled at long-on, she made India pay in emphatic fashion. Displaying a wide array of strokes, particularly strong through the leg side and over extra cover, Voll brought up her half-century off 44 balls before accelerating even further.
Her century arrived off just 80 deliveries in the 31st over in dramatic fashion, edging a ball from Kashvee that nearly carried to wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, before scrambling through for a single. She eventually fell for exactly 101, mistiming a shot off Kashvee, but not before producing a match-winning innings laced with 13 fours and a six.
The knock was Voll’s second ODI century and notably her second against India. With it, she became only the third Australian women’s player to register multiple ODI hundreds before the age of 23, joining the elite company of Lanning and Litchfield.
Beth Mooney provided calm support during her stand with Voll, contributing 31 before being dismissed following a successful Indian review. Annabel Sutherland departed soon after, holing out for 10 off Deepti Sharma, but by then the outcome was beyond doubt.
The comprehensive win not only handed Australia the ODI series but also reinforced their dominance in the multi-format battle. For India, the defeat highlighted the need for greater firepower with the bat and sharper execution in the field as they look to regroup ahead of the remaining fixtures.
