Sanskrit Week is being celebrated in the state from August 16 to 22
Like every year, this year also Sanskrit Week is being celebrated in the state from August 16 to 22 in the month of Shravan with a view to promote Sanskrit language. During this, various activities and competitions are being organised in all government, non-government, traditional Sanskrit schools and colleges affiliated to Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan.
On the first day of the week, on August 16, good wishes were extended to the students studying in Sanskrit educational institutions by applying tilak. Along with this, the teachers of Sanskrit subject informed the students about the research being done in Sanskrit language. On the second day of the week, on August 17, Sanskrit song competition was organised in educational institutions. In this competition, along with solo songs, group songs were also presented. On the third day of the week, August 18, lectures of the subject experts focusing on social, cultural and religious topics were organised. Besides, lectures were delivered in educational institutions especially on the topic why Sanskrit is necessary in today’s era.
During the week, on the fourth day, August 19, Shravani Upakram, Veda-Pujan and Vedapath were performed. It was ensured that maximum numbers of students participate in this. On the fifth day of the week, August 20, information was given to the students about the Sanskrit curriculum by contacting schools and colleges. On the sixth day of the week, August 21, songs, poems and Sanskrit bhajan evenings were organised in educational institutions.
On the last day of the week, August 22, lectures by Sanskrit scholars will be held in all Sanskrit educational institutions of the state. Maharishi Patanjali Sanskrit Sansthan is being run under the School Education Department. In the state, 40 government, 102 non-government and 90 traditional schools are being run through Sanskrit medium.
