Chief Minister unveils the statue of martyr Captain Anshuman Singh (Kirti Chakra) at Buddheshwar Chauraha

Lucknow : On Wednesday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked that after India gained independence, the nation’s brave soldiers secured the country by risking their lives, which is why every Indian holds immense respect and affection for the armed forces.

He added, “This deep respect and admiration significantly boost the morale of soldiers and their families.”

While unveiling the statue of martyr Captain Anshuman Singh (Kirti Chakra) at Buddheshwar Chauraha, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Captain Anshuman Singh, a courageous hero of the Indian Army, made the ultimate sacrifice on July 19, 2023, while saving his comrades in Siachen. A nation can safeguard its independence only by remembering its past and drawing inspiration from its glorious moments.”

The Municipal Corporation has named Buddheshwar Chauraha in honour of Captain Anshuman Singh and installed his statue there.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath remarked that during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged everyone to embrace the Panch Pran pledge, which includes respecting soldiers. He emphasized that honouring our soldiers not only enhances border security but also strengthens internal security, a sentiment that should resonate with all.

The Chief Minister stated, “Since the BJP government came to power in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, we have ensured that if army, paramilitary, or police personnel who contribute to our nation’s border and internal security or maintain law and order lose their lives in the line of duty, the UP government will provide Rs 50 lakh in assistance and a government job to one family member.”*

He added, “To honour their sacrifice, we install statues of these martyrs and name institutions or roads after them. This commitment has been consistently upheld by our government since 2017.”

The Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to the Municipal Corporation for installing the statue of Dr. Anshuman Singh. He remarked, “Anshuman Singh, born in Deoria within the Gorakhpur Commissionerate, was deeply devoted to the Indian Army and the security of our nation. His unwavering commitment led him to join the army, where he made the ultimate sacrifice while fulfilling his duties with integrity despite significant challenges. The Government of India has honoured his sacrifice by awarding him the Kirti Chakra.”

On this occasion, the State Minister for Rural Development Vijaylakshmi Gautam, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, Martyr Anshuman Singh’s father Ravi Pratap Singh, mother Manju Singh, District Panchayat President of Deoria Girish Tiwari, Lieutenant General Mukesh Chaddha, Lieutenant General Kavita Sahay, Major General Sameer Seth, Major General Samar Chatterjee, Major General J. Devnath, Brigadier AK Singh, Brigadier Bhushan Asthana, Brigadier Anil Vasudev, local councillor Dharmendra Kumar Singh etc. were present.
