Modern Vegetable Market in Barwani to Strengthen Agricultural Economy: CM Dr. Yadav

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that Bhagoria is not merely a festival, but a celebration of joy in harmony with nature. During the festival, men and women dance together in unison, adorned in traditional attire, showcasing the vibrant beauty of folk culture. The enjoyment of traditional beverages such as tadi is also part of the celebration. Tribal culture has its own distinct identity and significance. To preserve this rich tradition, the State Government has accorded Bhagoria the status of a State Festival, thereby enhancing its dignity. The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the Bhagoria celebration in Julwania, Barwani district.

A unique atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm was witnessed at the Bhagoria Haat in Julwania when Chief Minister Dr. Yadav joined the tribal community in the festivities. His presence infused the entire fairground with excitement, colours, and traditional fervour. The rhythmic beats of the mandal drum, captivating performances by dancers in traditional attire, and the vibrant hues of gulal made the celebration even more enchanting. The Chief Minister joined the tribal artists, stepping to the rhythm of the mandal, expressing his respect for their art and traditions.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Nimar region is renowned for its cultural richness, festive spirit and joyful outlook on life. The tradition of celebrating festivals in tune with each season has preserved a sense of collective happiness and unity. Established by ancestors, this joyful tradition remains alive today. For centuries, Bhagoria has symbolised enthusiasm, vitality and the spirit of folk life in the region. He stated that the Nimar region is blessed by the sacred Narmada.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, enhanced water management and the expansion of irrigation facilities have ensured that water now reaches previously drought-affected fields, resulting in flourishing crops. The region produces a variety of crops, fruits and vegetables. Farmers are increasingly adopting natural farming practices, resulting in growing demand for Barwani’s fruits and vegetables in domestic and international markets. He said that the next goal is to connect farms to processing units and bring about transformative change in farmers’ lives through value addition and food processing.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to honour the joy of Bhagoria and the progressive agriculture of Barwani, the first Agriculture Cabinet of Krishak Kalyan Varsh was organised, where development decisions worth ₹27,500 crore were taken. Under the Bhavantar Payment Scheme, ₹1,500 crore has been provided for soybean in the interest of farmers. Ladli Behna beneficiaries are receiving ₹1,500 per month to promote self-reliance. Through the Kisan Samman Nidhi, financial support is being extended to ensure equal opportunities for farmers. He expressed happiness at having the opportunity to visit Bhilat Dev for the first time along with the Cabinet. He noted that Nimar is the sacred land of great saints such as Sant Singaji and Dada Dhuniwale, who spread the message of harmony and unity. Extending advance greetings for Holi, he urged people to celebrate the festival with love and brotherhood, forgetting differences and discord.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, highlighting agricultural development in Barwani district, said that horticulture crops are cultivated over a significant area in the district. To support this, cold storage facilities, food processing units, and a modern vegetable market will be established. Administrative approval has been granted for the Pansemal and Varla Micro Lift Irrigation Projects in tribal-majority areas, which will provide permanent irrigation to thousands of hectares and directly benefit tribal farmers.

The Khetia Agricultural Produce Market will be developed as a model mandi. To promote natural farming, 25 farmers will be trained in other states and prepared as master trainers. A model seed production centre will be established across 50 acres to boost seed production.

Accelerating regional development, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced several key road projects. The Palsud Bypass and Ojhar Bypass will be constructed to ease traffic and improve connectivity. A road will be developed from AB Road to the Khajya Nayak Memorial at Bhanwargarh, ensuring better access for devotees and residents. Additionally, a five-kilometre road will be constructed from Diwani to Jogwada. These initiatives will significantly enhance regional development, trade activities and public convenience.

The presence of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav made the Bhagoria Haat celebration even more special, reflecting a harmonious blend of tradition and modern development.

The event was attended by Chairman of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Shri Antar Singh Arya, Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, District In-Charge Minister and Skill Development & Employment Minister Shri Gautam Tetwal, Member of Parliament Shri Gajendra Patel, Rajya Sabha Member Shri Sumer Singh Solanki, Pansemal MLA Shri Shyam Barde, senior officials and a large number of citizens.
